Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, certain individuals hold a view that the major concern of environment is lefting a special kinds of species of plants and animals in forest. While some people oppose this view and believe that there are others crucial environmental challenges instead of these. In this essay I will discuss both of these perspectives before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, in our time environmental problem related with loss of such types of species, plants and animals is due to cut up of forest every year. These causes occure when the forest area has been cleared and the plant become crushed. Futhermore, animals and other species live their life in forest area where a wide range of plants exist, due to this obtacle many animals has been lost in the previous years. To cite an example, amazon forest has becoming cut up and many animals and species lived in big trees are now lost.
On the other hand, critics argue that there are many more reason behind our environmental crises such as air pollution, deforestation, and many more. Due to these probelem our environment is now facing many challenges in the terms of floods and un expected rain in both rural areas and big cities. For instance, recently in Pakistan a very big flood had come and damage a lot of homes and local businesses in around areas.
In my poin of view, in recent years, animals and plant species are not only distrubed by the environmental issues but humans and business is also affected by this problem. For example, many individuals have long cancer because of our bad environment, they brith polluted air and dirnk dirty water. As a result, mostly face these kinds of challenges which has not possible to recover in short terms.
In conclusion, many says that animals and plant species has been badly affected by out wrost environment, while others think that there are more vital environmental challenges such as deforestation and air pollution. In my personal opinion, these issues are equals because our environment problems the lost of animals and other important liveing things such as human.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that the loss of specific species is the main environmental problem, and that other critical issues exist—while also providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on plant and animal loss is restricted to basic statements about deforestation in the Amazon, and the counter-arguments regarding air pollution and floods are general and lack deep extension. The position is maintained throughout the essay, but the overall development falls within the Band 5 to Band 6 range because the reasoning remains relatively simple and underdeveloped in places.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into five standard paragraphs, demonstrating an overall logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view, a personal opinion, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', to signal transitions between ideas. However, referencing and paragraph flow are sometimes awkward or mechanical, as seen in sentences like 'These occure when the forest area has been cleared and the plant become crushed.' Progression within paragraphs is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing and abrupt shifts, placing the cohesion firmly at a Band 5 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching on environmental themes such as 'deforestation', 'air pollution', and 'species of plants and animals'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'lefting' instead of 'leaving', 'occure', 'obtacle', 'distrubed', 'dirnk', and 'wrost'. Furthermore, collocation and phrasing are frequently unnatural, such as 'brith polluted air' (breathe polluted air) and 'these issues are equals'. These errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and reflect a vocabulary profile typical of Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. Frequent grammatical errors impede readability and distort meaning, including subject-verb agreement issues ('plant become crushed', 'animals has been lost', 'a very big flood had come and damage'), tense inconsistencies, and prepositions ('in around areas', 'in short terms'). Complex structures are often faulty, and basic punctuation and capitalization errors occur frequently. Because errors are dense and recurrent across most sentences, the performance aligns with Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5 for some successful simple structures.
