Student answer (Band 5.5)
Enironmental hazerts is one of most biggest issues in modren society. Some people belive they are caused by disturbance of ecosystems by harming plants and animal, while other aruge that there are other potential factors that are creating enviromental problem. In my opinion both of them are equally causing the environmental problems but development in techonlogy and other industries are biggest threat to enviroment.
On the one hand, effecting the ecosytem by cuting plants and disturbing food chain of animal leds to environmental problems. The plants are major and the only sourse of air purification it also provide habitat to aminal as well as prevent soil errosion. In addition killing animal effect the ecosystem that is essential for our environment.
on the other hand, Industrial waste and emmision of gasses from vehicals are major factor affecting enviromental problem. As the numbers of Industries are rising the by products are becoming a larger problem to handel, this casue both land and air pollution. Futhermore as the demand of vehicals are going up, the amount of carbondioxide and other harmfull gasses are climbing significantly as a result, ther is rose in global warming and reduction of ozone layer.
In my opinion, Both affecting ecosytem and Industries by product are causing enviromental problem however the modrenization is a major culpulate this is beacuse it leds to more demand in industries a good exmaple of it is, as the population increasing more ther will be rise in demand of transport so more automotive industires will establise.
In conclusion the envirnomental problem is caused by both disturbance of ecosystem and human population that demand for more industries and transport. In my opinion

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on environmental problems and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is stated in the introduction and maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on plant and animal loss mentions basic points like 'air purification' and 'soil errosion' without extending them significantly. Similarly, the arguments regarding industrialization and modernization are generalized. While all requirements of the task are addressed, the depth of explanation places this response firmly in Band 5.5 to 6.0 territory. Because the length requirement is fully met, no penalty is applied for word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is divided into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs discussing opposing views, a reasoning paragraph, and an incomplete conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'on the other hand', and 'In my opinion' are used to structure the text, though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Paragraphing is generally appropriate, but the abrupt ending in the final sentence disrupts the flow and organization. Referencing is mostly clear, but repetitive sentence structures and occasional run-on sentences hinder the overall progression. These factors align with a Band 5.5 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'ecosystems', 'modernization', and 'global warming'. However, there are frequent spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'Enironmental hazerts', 'modren', 'belive', 'aruge', 'techonlogy', 'sourse', 'aminal', 'errosion', 'emmision', 'vehicals', 'handel', 'Futhermore', 'harmfull', 'culpulate', and 'envirnomental'. Despite these numerous slips, the meaning is generally communicated successfully, fitting the criteria for Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional-like structures and relative clauses (e.g., 'as the population increasing more ther will be rise in demand'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, punctuation, and sentence structure (e.g., 'Environmental hazerts is one of most biggest issues', 'ther is rose in global warming', 'Both affecting ecosytem and Industries by product are causing'). The final sentence trails off incomplete. These persistent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a Band 5.0 performance.
