Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people says that the major atmosphere problem nowadays, is the shortage of main species of plant and animals but opponents says that there are lot of environment problem. I discus on both views with reasons and example but i think there are many other problems are cause to pollute atmosphere.
Nowadays, govt make project for their nation progress and remove the forest and make buildings and factories. It's main cause to pollute the environment because the plant are the major source for healthy atmosphere. Apart from this people move to cities for better facilities and leave the countrysides. When people leave these areas automatically loss the animals because animals can't survive without nature facilities. Recently my friend and his family sold their property and went to city for live after some days there are new chemical factory and the waste of this factory badly effect the animal species.
There are lot of problems for unhealthy environment like the vehicles is the the another biggest problem for our atmosphere after that the over population is very dangerous for atmosphere. Nowadays, in Pakistan in agriculture areas people rice crop and harvesting for next crop they fire the waste of rice crop and its cause the pollution of environment and cause of many infections.
I agree on the point of opponents because animal and plant loss are not a single cause there are many other and dengourse cause of atmosphere problems. So, it's responsibility of govt to take action on this problem and gave solid pollution for healthy and optimistic atmosphere.
To conclude, there are many problems but it can easily cover with the cooperation of people and govt without the help of people its impossible.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both views presented in the prompt: the loss of particular plant and animal species as the main environmental problem, and the alternative view that there are more important problems. The writer takes a clear position in support of the latter view, stating that there are many other causes of pollution and environmental degradation. Ideas are introduced, such as government projects, urban migration, vehicle emissions, and agricultural burning in Pakistan. However, these ideas tend to be under-developed and generalise quickly without deep elaboration. The personal example regarding a friend's property sold to move to a city is somewhat anecdotal and lacks clear connection to the wider global debate. Despite these limitations, the task requirements are sufficiently met with a relevant discussion and a discernible overall stance throughout the response, corresponding well to the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps establish a basic structure including an introduction, body paragraphs discussing various issues, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt transitions and a lack of cohesive devices. Sentences within paragraphs are often strung together with minimal coordination, such as 'When people leave these areas automatically loss the animals because animals can't survive without nature facilities.' Referencing and pronoun use are sometimes unclear, and linking phrases are basic or missing. While the overall arrangement is broadly coherent and readers can follow the general drift of the argument, the faulty and mechanical cohesion places this response firmly at Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent lexical and collocational inaccuracies. For instance, the writer uses 'atmosphere problem' instead of 'environmental issue', and phrases like 'gave solid pollution' instead of 'effective solutions'. Words are often used with incorrect word forms, such as 'dengourse cause' instead of 'dangerous causes', and 'govt make project' instead of 'governments launch projects'. The range is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally cause the reader to pause or struggle to decode the precise meaning. This level of lexical control aligns with a Band 5.0 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are frequent and systematic errors in basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement ('Some people says', 'the vehicles is the'), missing articles ('in agriculture areas people rice crop'), tense inconsistencies, and poor punctuation. Many sentences contain multiple structural errors that impede fluent reading and distort meaning, such as '...and harvesting for next crop they fire the waste of rice crop and its cause the pollution of environment'. Because complex structures are frequently faulty and basic errors are widespread throughout the text, the grammar score is Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 for positive marking of attempt.
