Student answer (Band 5.0)
Environment is a signifacnt part of our lifebut due to certain reasons there are a lot of emerging problems causing disruption in the nature. Flora and Fauna are two key factors in maintaing the environment there interaction is causing a strike of balance in nature. But other major issues can not be overviewed as the environment is getting disturbed day by day.
I would agree to some extent with the opinion of other indivisduals as the blame of environmental issues can not be completely dependent on the diturbance of specific species of plants and animals. There are other reasons such as pollution, deforestation, ozone depletion one of the major issue regarding environmental distrubance causing climate change and global warming all over the world, so there are other reasons too for environmental issues which can not be disguised from the people .
In my opinion this can be a reason of inbalance in environment the deforestation and hunting of specific species can cause natural loss in balance of nature but all the mud cannot be poured only in these two buckets as the reasons for environmental disturbance. I would also support to the theory of people who take other reasons such as pollution and global warming a serious concern as they cannot be overviewed and due to the non seriouness of our society we have come to this stage that today our environment is totally disturbed with a lot of issue.
At the end I would conclude with these final words of mine that we must pay attention to the other reasons as well because at the end of the day we are the ones who are suffering from our own actions. We make this environment and are important part of it so it is our moral duty to keep the environment safe for others too by avoiding from such actions that cause disturbance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt partially, discussing both the loss of specific species and other environmental problems such as pollution and global warming. However, the position is not always entirely clear, and the ideas presented are somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the writer mentions deforestation and hunting as causes of imbalance in nature, but the explanation remains repetitive and superficial without fully exploring how these issues compare in severity to climate change or pollution. To move towards a higher band, the writer needs to present a well-developed position with fully elaborated arguments and specific examples that directly contrast the two views rather than repeating general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation evident in the text, with paragraphs attempting to separate the introduction, different views, and the conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the arrangement of ideas can feel somewhat circular. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'at the end' and 'other reasons' without smooth transitions. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it harder for the reader to follow the logical flow between sentences. To improve cohesion, the writer should employ a wider range of cohesive ties more accurately and ensure each paragraph has a distinct, progressively developed focus.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic topic of environmental concerns. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as spelling mistakes ('signifacnt', 'maintaing', 'indivisduals', 'distrubance', 'seriouness') and awkward word choices ('mud cannot be poured only in these two buckets', 'overviewed'). These errors and restricted word choices sometimes cause difficulty for the reader. To reach a higher level, the student must expand their range of vocabulary, use less common items with greater precision regarding style and collocation, and carefully check their spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns. Attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty, leading to frequent errors in punctuation, run-on sentences, missing articles, and awkward prepositions (e.g., 'due to the non seriouness of our society we have come to this stage that today our environment is totally disturbed', 'avoiding from such actions'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to incorporate a wider variety of complex structures with improved grammatical control and punctuation accuracy.
