Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people state that the major environment issue of the present days is the loss of specific species of plants and animals. According to others, there are another most important enviranmental problems. In my opinion both these views are need to be addressed. Loss of some species of living beings course to endangered those animals from the earth. On the other hand there are numerous natural hazards around the world that need to be conceren.
With the environmental pollution, and excessive usage of plants for the purpose of construction course to endangered some species of plants from the earth. Most of these plants have a medical value and othet types of importance for the ecosystem. All these living beings help to maintain eco balance. If some species loss entirely from the earth, the balance of eco sysytem breaks. It causes many dangerous effects. As an example, the environment scientists showed that nearly 10 000 of species will dissapeared from the earth within next five years.
On the other hand, there are another considerable disasters in the world. The main problem we face nowadys is global warming due to green house emission. Because of this the glaciers become melt and the sea levels rise rapidly. It is a very dangerous situation. Geologists state that more than half of glaciers around the world will melt within next 2 to 3 years. The landside will reduced with this. So, the government and responsible parties should take the proper actions regarding this problems.
In conclusion, there is a danger of loss if some specific animal and plant species as well as another huge disaster of global warming. We need to cosider about both of these problems and take necessary steps accordingly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the loss of species and other environmental problems, while also providing a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For instance, the discussion on plant and animal loss introduces relevant points about ecosystems and medical value, yet the ideas remain somewhat under-developed, particularly when stating that 'nearly 10 000 of species will dissapeared'. The second view concerning global warming is similarly introduced with broad claims about melting glaciers and rising sea levels without deeper elaboration. A clearer extension of the supporting arguments with more specific examples would move this response forward.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the distinct ideas. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. The writer relies heavily on formulaic transitions such as 'On the other hand' repeatedly to shift between points, and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'regarding this problems' where the pronoun agreement falters. While the logical flow is generally maintained, the somewhat repetitive use of cohesive devices prevents the text from achieving a smoother, more sophisticated progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to communicate basic arguments about environmental issues. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'ecosystem', 'eco balance', and 'global warming', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling. Examples include 'major environment issue' instead of 'environmental issue', 'enviranmental problems', 'course to endangered' instead of 'cause to endanger' or 'lead to the endangerment', 'dissapeared', and 'cosider'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips occur throughout the text and cause some difficulty for the reader, though the overall meaning remains decipherable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and causative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and mechanics that persist throughout the text. Issues include problems with verb forms and tenses ('these views are need to be addressed', 'glaciers become melt'), article usage, plurals, and prepositions ('within next five years'). Punctuation also shows occasional lapses. Although these grammatical errors rarely impede overall communication, their frequency and the faulty execution of complex structures restrict the control over grammar to a more basic level.
