Student answer (Band 5.0)
I agree that there are branches of environmental issues more important than the decrease of specific species of plant and animals. Over the decades, unwanted disaster and health risks are one of the important consequences due to climate changes and global warming.
Impact of environmental damages has been seen in every sector of life. In that point, we have to figure it out which dimensions are at more risk. Unwanted disaster like as flash flood, cyclone, erosion of river are now commonly seen in every year and different regions of the world. That disaster not only bring physical damages but also cause economic losses for many years. Those vulnerable commnunites lead a misserable life as they are suspected to this every years. Also, the basic rights can not be ensured during this period.
Additionally, health risks are dramatically increased due to environmental massive pollution. Cardio-vascular disease, asthama, High blood pressure and exposure to heavy metals which may lead to cancer, are now common phenomena. Vector brone disease such as dengue also rose up due to shift in moonsoon. Moreover, water and air pollution make our major sources of water and food hazardous. Consequently, people of all ages are now facing health risks of communicable and non-communicable diseases as well.
Hence, lighting only on loss of plant and animal species will not be a proper approcah. Stakeholders and governments should prioprites the issue of environmental damages and then provide fund or neccessary steps starting from more important one like as disaster or health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially. While the student attempts to discuss both views and gives a personal opinion in the introduction, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on climate change mentions disasters like flash floods, but fails to fully explore the alternative view regarding the loss of plant and animal species as required by the prompt. The position is stated at the beginning, but the arguments lack sufficient elaboration and extension, leading to a generalisation of environmental issues without deep analysis of the two competing perspectives.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation evident through paragraphing and basic transitional markers such as 'Additionally' and 'Hence', but the response lacks a clear overall progression. The logical flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive referencing. For example, sentences in the second body paragraph jump between disaster impacts and community vulnerability without smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or mechanical, which hinders the development of a fully coherent and unified argument throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used represents a limited but minimally adequate range for the task. The student attempts some less common items such as 'cardio-vascular' and 'communicable', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word form, spelling, and word choice, such as 'misserable', 'commnunites', 'suspected' instead of 'susceptible', and 'moonsoon'. Furthermore, collocations are occasionally unnatural, like 'lighting only on' instead of 'focusing solely on', which causes some difficulty for the reader and restricts the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer employs a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple forms and frequently faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, plurals, prepositions, and article usage, such as 'unwanted disaster like as flash flood', 'climate changes', and 'Vector brone disease such as dengue also rose up'. These frequent errors require the reader to decode the meaning and can cause noticeable difficulty, placing the grammatical control at this level.
