Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, there is an ongoing debate about enviromental problems, some people think that it is because of loss of plants and animels, While others believe that it is due to other reasons both opinions are facts. In my opinion, the main problem of our environment is lack of sense of reponsibility.

Firstly, the loss perticular plants and animals is basic environmental problem because when plants cut down their roots which capture the soil togather are also eaten by different insects and when floods are come it cause soil erusion, also the rain fall can washout essential nutrients from soil and it becomes desert. Animals are also important part of our environment so when their species threanted less biodiversity take place and cause serious envirmental problems.

Secondly, other factors such as water pollution, air pollution are also main cause of our environment. If we do not take control on it, can cause serious health problems like goiter, tuberclusies.

Thirdly, we are becoming carelessness about our invironment and distructing it countinously like we are not caring its natural resources such as coal, gass and petroluem products. If we do not limite it's use it sulpy will run short very soon. As a result, for the seek of our genration wehave to limite it's use.

In conclusion, the loss of perticular animals species and plant are main cause of our environmental problem and many other factors like water pollution, air pollution also our carelessness toward natural resources contribute to these envirmental problems if not controled may be prove fatal.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the loss of specific species alongside other environmental problems and offers a personal opinion, though the development remains limited. The views are presented, such as the mention of soil erosion and water pollution, but ideas are under-developed and lack extended explanation or fully relevant supporting examples. For instance, the connection between species loss and ecosystem health is briefly stated without exploring broader consequences. The student's position is discernible throughout the text, but the arguments lack depth, keeping the content at a basic level of task execution where points are introduced rather than thoroughly explored.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some organization through the use of transition markers like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', which provide a basic framework for the structure. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the logical flow is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts between points. Cohesive devices are sometimes used mechanically or inaccurately, such as starting multiple body paragraphs with repetitive enumerations. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion suffers because sentences within paragraphs do not always connect smoothly to a central idea, resulting in a somewhat disjointed reading experience.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for discussing environmental topics, featuring basic terms like 'water pollution', 'air pollution', and 'natural resources'. There are frequent noticeable spelling errors throughout the response, such as 'enviromental', 'animels', 'reponsibility', 'perticular', 'erusion', 'threanted', 'tuberclusies', 'carelessness', 'distructing', 'countinously', 'gass', 'petroluem', and 'genration'. These lexical errors and incorrect word forms occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a restricted control over word spelling and precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex clauses, such as 'If we do not take control on it, can cause serious health problems'. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader, including missing articles ('when plants cut down', 'when floods are come'), subject-verb agreement issues ('plant are main cause'), and incorrect prepositions ('take control on it'). Punctuation is also problematic, marked by run-on sentences and comma splices, particularly in the introduction and concluding sections.
