Student answer (Band 5.5)

In sometime people say that the main environment issues of our time is the death of particular species of plants and animal's while others say that are more crucial environment obstacles. This essay discusses both views and argues that the species extinction is series problem, and climate change is also the major crisis.

Firstly, the dying out of distinct species that create a big impact on our daily life because there are many species which are help in the growth of plants and animals in different ways. For instance, the species help in the fields when the small insects damage the harvest then these species kill the insects and save the field. A few species which are used in the human medicine therefore, the availability of certain type of species are mor significant.

In contrast, in the climate changing, and the high temperature is also a very succession of concerns for today life because it creates bad impact on the daily life of mankind and animals and birds. Such as, in the hot temperature people do not running their daily life easily and the plastic pollution in ocean and deforestation not only destroy habitats but also harm human health. Pollution is the main concerned due to threaten the whole planet`s life support system.

In my opinion, climate change, pollution, extinction of diversity of species and other problems which destroy our life and pants that are the main reason. we should avoid that particular instruments which are helpful for the entire system and also support the plants growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides by discussing species loss and then climate change, pollution and deforestation, and you state a view that these environmental threats are serious. The examples about insects protecting crops and species being used in medicine are relevant, while the later paragraph identifies effects on people, wildlife and habitats. However, the discussion is uneven: the first view receives more explanation, and the second groups several problems together without clearly comparing their importance. Your final opinion is also difficult to pin down because it lists several issues rather than explaining which you consider the most important and why. Develop each view with a clear cause-and-effect explanation, then state and support one precise position throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on species loss, a contrasting paragraph on other environmental problems, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “In contrast” help signal the movement between views. However, some links are mechanical or do not accurately express the relationship between ideas; for example, “In contrast, in the climate changing” is an unclear transition. Several ideas are crowded into the second body paragraph, and the conclusion introduces a broad list rather than drawing together the discussion. Use one main focus per paragraph, connect examples explicitly to the point they support, and make references such as “these problems” clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-specific vocabulary, including “species extinction,” “climate change,” “plastic pollution,” “deforestation,” and “habitats,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some effort to use less common expressions, such as “life support system.” However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow: “environment obstacles,” “a very succession of concerns,” and “the main concerned” are not natural expressions in this context. Spelling and word-form errors, including “pants” for “plants” and “mor significant,” also reduce precision. Build a reliable set of environmental collocations and check that each chosen word fits its grammatical and semantic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Such as” and the construction “not only … but also.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms and articles often make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “the dying out of distinct species that create a big impact” lacks a complete main clause, while “there are many species which are help” combines incompatible verb forms. Other examples include “people do not running” and “the availability … are.” Aim first for accurate complete sentences with a clear subject and verb; then practise complex clauses and check agreement, verb patterns, articles and punctuation.
