Student answer (Band 5.0)

People have differnet views about whether some people believe that the main environmental problem of our period is the loss of partiicular species of plants and animals and others say that there are more environmental problems in society. This essay will discuss both perspectives and I believe that impact of environment will cause more damage to society.

To begin with, supporters of the view environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. This is because loss of plants and animals is mostly we observe in the nature in particular years due to radiations, deforesting of forests, cutting of trees and more leads to severe cause to plants and animals. For example, In my country there are lot of different birds are seen in my childhood days such as parrorts, crowns and more which was flying on the sky frequently but now, we never see one bird that flys in the sky its one of the rare cases that situation occurs because of radations and cutting of tree and palnts which endangered their lif. As a result, we see the loss of species that we see in past, due to the environment crises.

On the other hand, other believe that there are more important environmental problems in the society. This is because, we regulary see lot of pollution in our daily life such as air pollution, water pollution, sound pollution which causes the enviroment damage that leads to damage of air causes severe health problems for each person in the land not only plants and animals. For example, In my home town there is a lime industry its very near to town we face lot of air and water pollution through these industries that causes more environmental damage in our areas causes more helath issues in our regular life. As a result, environmetal damage causes more impact to every one life in these generation

In conclusion, although loss of species of plants and animals, In my opinion environment crises but problmes impact to enviroment causes major damage.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views: the first body paragraph links species loss to deforestation and other causes, while the second discusses air, water and noise pollution and gives a local industry example. You also attempt to state your own position in the introduction and conclusion. However, the position is difficult to identify consistently: “impact of environment will cause more damage” is unclear, and the conclusion does not clearly say which view you support. Several points are asserted rather than explained, and the examples—especially the birds seen in childhood—need clearer detail and a stronger link to the argument. Develop each view with a specific explanation, then state and maintain a precise opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to track because ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. For instance, the first example moves from childhood bird sightings to radiation, tree cutting and endangered species without clearly showing how each point connects. Repeated “This is because” and “As a result” transitions feel mechanical, and the conclusion does not clearly resolve the discussion. Use shorter, logically ordered sentences and clearer references to the point each example supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “species,” “deforestation,” “air pollution,” “water pollution,” and “health problems,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning unclear. Examples include “impact of environment,” “severe cause to plants and animals,” and “environmental damage causes more impact to every one life.” Spelling errors such as “differnet,” “radations,” “enviroment,” and “helath” are also frequent enough to weaken clarity. Build a bank of accurate environmental collocations and check spelling carefully; prefer precise phrases such as “environmental degradation” or “poses a threat to wildlife.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some complex sentences using “because,” “which,” and “although,” but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that make the relationships between ideas hard to follow. For example, “there are lot of different birds are seen” combines incompatible structures, while “we face lot of air and water pollution through these industries that causes” has problems with articles, agreement and clause structure. The conclusion, “although loss of species … but problmes impact to enviroment,” is not a complete, clear sentence. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly where long clauses are joined with commas. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time.
