Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many peoples agrue with telling that the main problems in our environment is the time when we loss the particular species of plants and animals. However other people believe that there are more crucial environmental problems. I consider that the both pollution and climate should be maintained urgent.

Firstly, Nowasays many animals in the jungle are getting hunted and being killes which is being one of the serious issue because it is our responsibility to handle our environment surrounding whether it is going with bad or good situations. Loss of particular species of plants and animals are increasing day by day. Whenver we can see that the plants are being cut by people which is called deforestation which is one of the issue because there are lots of flood and landslide which the animals in forest are getting destroyed and being killed with all this reason.Once the species become extinct, it is impossible to bring back which can permanently change ecosystems.

Secondly, There are more important environmental problems such as climate change which is also damaging the crops which is being grown. Nowadays there are being weather change anytime which is destroying the crops and make loss for the farmer which is very worst thing. Many people are suffering from different kinds of diseases. These problems can contribute to the destructions of natural habitats.

In my opinion, Both climate change and pollutions can effect all the property not only the animals but also can people. Therefore, Government should look after all this situations and find out the better results so that none of the things that hamper our society will happened.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views: the first body paragraph discusses species loss, while the second introduces climate change and its effects on crops and people. Your opinion is also present, particularly in the conclusion, where you argue that climate change and pollution affect people as well as animals. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The second view is represented mainly by climate change, with pollution mentioned but not explained, and the conclusion does not clearly compare which problems you consider most important. The examples about hunting, deforestation, floods and crop damage are relevant, but their links to the central argument need clearer explanation. To strengthen the response, develop each view with a specific example and state your position more precisely throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly”, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together without clear relationships. For example, the first body paragraph moves from hunting to responsibility, species loss, deforestation and landslides in a single sequence. Linking phrases such as “Once the species become extinct” help connect cause and consequence, but other transitions are repetitive or awkward. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it before moving on; use clearer references and a wider range of accurate linking expressions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “species”, “deforestation”, “ecosystems”, “climate change” and “natural habitats”, so the reader can recognise the environmental focus. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “Many peoples agrue”, “the both pollution”, “weather change anytime” and “find out the better results”. Some words are repeated, particularly “problems”, “animals” and “being”, rather than replaced with precise alternatives. Aim to learn common environmental collocations and check spelling and word forms. More accurate phrases such as “extinction of species”, “unpredictable weather patterns” and “effective solutions” would make your ideas clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “Once the species become extinct, it is impossible to bring back” and a relative clause beginning “which is also damaging the crops”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. For example, “the main problems … is” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “plants and animals are getting hunted and being killes” has problems with verb forms and agreement. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “the both pollution” and the long sentence ending “with all this reason.” Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine ideas using correctly formed clauses and punctuation.
