Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued by some peaple that main environmental issues of our time is the loss of particular species of plant and animals. Meanwhile, others argue that there are more serious environmental issues. However, I believe that problems such as climate change and pollution are more important because they affect the whole planet.
On the one hand, supporters of the idea loss of plant and animal species is the main environmental problems believe that every species play the important role in nature. For example, if an important type of insect disappears, some plants may not be able to reproduce properly. Thus, the loss of species can seriously damage the balance of nature. Thus, the suporters of teh viedw support their finding their analysis with vaild agruments.
While on the other hand, the advocates of the view that there are more important environmental problem believe that climate change and pollution are more serious. This is beacuse these problems affect not only animal and plants but also millions of people around gthe world. Hence, this view also seems to carry a lot weightage.
However in my opinion, climate are change and pollution are more serious problems.
To sume up, even though the loss of particular plants and animals is a serious enviornmental issue, I believe that climate and pollution are more important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both views and state your opinion: the first body paragraph explains how losing insects can affect plant reproduction, while the introduction and conclusion favour climate change and pollution. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The second view is asserted rather than supported with a specific example or explanation of how these problems affect people, and the sentence about supporters having “valid arguments” does not add meaningful support. Your position is present, but it is repeated more than it is developed. The response also contains 211 words, below the required 250; this limits the space available to explain and support both sides. Develop each view with a clear reason and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two paragraphs presenting the views, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “On the one hand,” “While on the other hand,” and “To sum up” help signal the organisation. However, progression is limited because several points are stated briefly without being connected through explanation. “Thus” is repeated in the first body paragraph, and “However” introduces the opinion after the second view without clearly developing the relationship between them. The paragraph beginning “However in my opinion” repeats the position rather than adding a new step to the argument. Use fewer formulaic transitions and build each paragraph around a reason, explanation, and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “species,” “reproduce,” “climate change,” “pollution,” and “balance of nature,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “carry a lot weightage” and “supporters … support their finding their analysis.” Spelling errors—including “peaple,” “suporters,” “beacuse,” and “enviornmental”—are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. There is also repetition of “important,” “problems,” and “view.” Build a more precise range for discussing environmental impacts, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentences, including the conditional example beginning “if an important type of insect disappears,” and use clauses with “because” and “even though.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. For example, “the main environmental issues … is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “every species play” also needs agreement. Articles and sentence patterns are sometimes faulty, as in “supporters of the idea loss of plant and animal species” and “climate are change.” The final opinion sentence also repeats the same point without adding grammatical variety. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and complete sentence patterns before attempting longer structures.
