Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern society environmental problem is one of the biggest issue. Some people believe that loss of particular species of plants and animals is one of the main environmental problem however i believe that apart from loss of particular species of plats and animals there are other plenty of environmental issues also there in ths society.
Firstly ,Environmental problem is very dangerous to human life, extinction of particular species of plants and animals is vulnerable to environment for example species especially dinosaurus and other plants species are lost due to unsuall human activities that is cutting down the tress and hunting animals this is also a threat to human life. Increase in cutting trees and plants builds scaricity of oxygen in the nature , hunting animals is harmful for the biodiversity.
Secondly, There are some other environmental problems also for example environmental pollution ,usage of plastic and using more private vechicles rather than using public transport. People are polluting the environment in different ways such as water pollution by releasing factories waste water into the water, air pollution by using more petroleum product vehicles and sound pollution by using high volume speakers during possesions soil pollution by using harmful fertilizers.
In my opinion environment problem is not only the problem that we lost particular species of plants and animals there are plenty of other problem also in the society which need to be eradicated from human activities . It is our responsibility to maintain healthy and beautiful environment for our well being.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both views: the first body paragraph addresses species loss, while the second gives other concerns such as pollution and plastic use. Your final paragraph also makes your position clear that environmental problems extend beyond extinction. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the examples are mostly listed, and the explanation of how species loss threatens people is unclear. The reference to dinosaurs does not effectively support a current environmental argument. The response contains 243 words, so it is 7 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each view with a relevant example and explain its significance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “Firstly” and “Secondly” help signal the two main sections, and the reader can follow the broad contrast between species loss and other environmental problems. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak: the first body paragraph moves from extinction to tree cutting and hunting without clearly connecting each point, while the second presents several types of pollution in a list. Some linking is mechanical, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example to the paragraph’s main claim so the argument develops rather than simply adding points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “extinction,” “biodiversity,” “air pollution” and “soil pollution,” which allows you to address the environmental theme. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “scaricity of oxygen,” “environmental problem is vulnerable to environment,” and “other plenty of environmental issues.” Spelling errors, including “plats,” “threat” written as “threat” in an unclear context, and “vechicles,” also reduce accuracy. These problems sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Build a more precise set of environmental collocations and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences, including the sentence beginning “People are polluting the environment in different ways,” and use examples to extend your points. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors that make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “In the modern society environmental problem is one of the biggest issue” has article and singular/plural agreement problems, while “there are plenty of other problem” also has agreement errors. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly after full stops and around commas. Practise accurate sentence boundaries, articles and subject–verb and noun-number agreement, then check each sentence for a clear grammatical structure.
