Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify both viewpoints: the loss of plants and animals, and wider problems such as pollution and climate change. You also give an opinion, saying environmental change is important. However, the discussion is very brief and the ideas are only minimally explained. For example, you say extinct species “cannot come back,” but do not explain why this loss is especially serious or give a relevant example. The second view is also unclear: pollution is linked to health and hotter weather, but the relationship is not developed. Your conclusion is only the heading “Conculation,” with no concluding statement. The response is also 132 words below the required minimum, so it cannot develop the task sufficiently. Add explanations, examples, and a clear conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two viewpoints, and your opinion. Phrases such as “the other people” and “In my opinion” help signal changes in focus. However, the progression is difficult to follow because ideas are compressed into long, loosely connected sentences, and the final “Conculation” heading does not complete the argument. The opening also combines the two views and the essay plan without clear sentence boundaries. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and connect each claim to its explanation with clear linking phrases. This would make the overall arrangement easier to follow and reduce the impression of disconnected points.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “plants and animals,” “pollution,” “health,” and “environment,” so the main subject is recognisable. However, the range is basic and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “bigest,” “invoirnment,” “wet her,” and “change of environmental.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “make hot of the weather” and “bad environment effected.” Aim to learn accurate topic phrases and use them in context, for example, “rising temperatures,” “harmful effects on human health,” and “the extinction of species.” Checking spelling and choosing natural collocations would make your meaning clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to join ideas using “and” and “so.” However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation occur throughout and sometimes make the meaning unclear. For example, “the bigest environmental problems is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Some people says” uses an incorrect verb form. The opening fragment, “many plants and animals,” is not a complete sentence, and “pollution is effected on health” does not form a clear grammatical pattern. Practise building complete sentences with a subject and verb, then check agreement and verb forms. Use full stops to separate ideas and try a few accurate complex sentences to explain causes and consequences.
