Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You attempt to discuss both views, mentioning harm to animals and plants in one body paragraph and effects on people in the other. However, the task asks you to compare species loss with other environmental problems, whereas the response mainly discusses environmental change and its effects; the specific issue of species becoming extinct or disappearing is not clearly explained. Your opinion is also difficult to identify: “I firmly believe” introduces a general statement about the environment rather than a clear choice between the two views. Examples such as crop damage, animal disease and homes lost in heavy rain are relevant but mostly listed, with little explanation of their significance. The response is also three words below the required minimum. Develop the two positions directly and state which problem you consider more important.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “on the one hand” and “on the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several points are repeated rather than connected into a developed argument—for example, environmental change is repeatedly said to harm people, animals and plants. Linking words such as “moreover” and “for instance” are used, but the relationship between some ideas remains unclear, and the conclusion does not resolve the comparison raised in the task. Improve cohesion by grouping related effects, explaining how each example supports the paragraph’s main point, and using clear references to avoid repeating “environment change.”

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a range of topic-related words, including “agriculture,” “diseases,” “heavy rain,” “farmers” and “animals,” so the general subject is usually understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “skin issues” and “throat damage.” However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise: “environment change” is used for several different environmental problems, while “hurdles” and “issues” recur without specifying the impact. Spelling errors such as “Enviornment,” “firmely,” “harmfull” and “ocuure” also reduce accuracy. Choose precise terms for the problems being discussed, such as species loss, extreme weather or habitat destruction, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple sentences and longer constructions, including “People lose their house in heavy rain and lose their everything,” and the basic meaning can generally be followed. However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent. Examples include “Environment play” instead of a singular verb form, “the weather … change” instead of “changes,” and “Every fields … is destroy,” where number and verb forms do not agree. Articles and plurals are also problematic in phrases such as “a biggest issue” and “animal … lifes.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention too: the opening has a full stop after “role,” and several sentences begin with lowercase letters. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals and past participles, then proofread each sentence.
