Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people argue that, in today's times, there is a loss of particular species of pants and animals both, and they considered that this is the main environmental issue. Others believe that apart from this there are so many environmental problems which are more important such as pollution, population and climate change. I believe that the main environmental problem is the loss of these species from our planet.
On the one hand, there are so many environmental issues going on currently. Among them, the important problems were climatic change and pollution. Due to increase of private cars and use of more flights, people are using these facilities more as compared to past. As a result, the whole panet pollution gets affected. Consequently, everywhere there are air conditioners which increases the risk of global warming.
On the other hand, despite of these scenarios which the government is already taking measures but the main environmental problem is the loss of species of plants and animals which sometimes hard to find. As compared to past, we have lost so many species of plants and animals which does not exist today. As a result, we might not get the benefits from these species which past people used to get. For example, earlier we have lot of birds like sparrow, parot, cookoo, owl, pegion and so on. Their voices and peaceful sound helps to relax our mind but now these species were gone and we hardly can find some.
In my opinion, although we have many other environmental problem, but I believe that preserving the species of plants and animals are extremely important.
In conclusion, government and other relevant agencies should focus on these main issue first rather than focusing on other environmental problems as it is very important to pro

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state a clear preference in the introduction and conclusion: you acknowledge pollution and climate change, then argue that species loss is the main concern. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The paragraph on other environmental problems mainly names pollution and climate change, with a brief explanation about cars, flights and air conditioning; it does not explain why these problems may be more important. Your case for species loss includes a relevant example of declining bird populations, but the claimed benefits of species and the consequences of their disappearance remain general. The conclusion also ends with an incomplete phrase, so the final recommendation is not fully expressed. Develop the comparison and support each view with clearer consequences or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding paragraph. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the basic organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from transport to pollution and then to air conditioners without clearly explaining the links, while the second shifts from government measures to species loss and then to birds. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, including “despite of these scenarios which the government is already taking measures but.” The conclusion is cut off, weakening the ending. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant environmental vocabulary, including “pollution,” “global warming,” “preserving,” and “species,” and the reader can generally identify your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. For example, “the whole planet pollution gets affected” does not express the intended relationship naturally, and “species … which sometimes hard to find” is imprecise. There are also noticeable spelling errors such as “panet,” “parot,” “cookoo,” and “pegion.” Aim for accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example, using “As a result” and “although” to show relationships. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “despite of these scenarios … but,” which combines incompatible structures, and “which does not exist today,” where the verb does not agree with the plural noun “species.” Tense and agreement are also inconsistent in “earlier we have lot of birds” and “these species were gone.” The final sentence is incomplete, ending with “as it is very important to pro.” Practise building accurate clauses and checking verb forms, articles, and sentence completion before submitting.
