Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, some people believe that, the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others believe that, there are more important environmental problems. In my personal opinion, I think so, environmental problem of our time which is loss of particular species like plants and animals is undoubtedly one of the major concern, the biggest concern is other environmental problems.
Firstly, one of the main environmental problem is like loss of particular species of plants and animals is an alarming call for us as human beings, global warming is already an major threat for these plants and animals with every passing year, we witness severe heat and more colder winters which may have major impact on these species. For instance, white rhinnos which are only two left among there species had a huge impact of global warming. but apart from that animal, many other animals like deer, goats, tigers and many others are killed by human beings for hunting purposes, environmental problems has nothing to do with that, which allows me to say environmental problems is not an major problem for the loss of speices like plants and animals.
Secondly, In my prespective, I believe, other environmental problems such as, noise pollution, air pollution, and, water pollution, are the main problems on this plannet and major concern for human beings. In additon, due to over population we face problems related to pollution. For example, factories, airplanes, garbages hold a vast impact on air pollution. Water pollution is caused by plastics, water bottles and oils used by ships. It destory marine life. Noise pollution is threatened by transportation such as cars, bikes, and trains. which plays pivitol role in pollution too.
Conclusion, yes, environmental problem of our time which is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. But, the main problem and the root cause behind it has the enivornmental problems, due to which global warming happens and green house gas is effected which lies in other environmental problems, and these problems are caused by human beings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a position: you recognise species loss as a serious concern, while arguing that pollution and other environmental problems are more important. However, the position is difficult to follow in places, especially when you say species loss is “one of the major concern” and then call other problems “the biggest concern.” The discussion of species loss is also under-developed: the example of the white rhinoceros is unclear, and the claim that environmental problems have “nothing to do” with animals being hunted conflicts with your later argument that environmental problems cause species loss. Develop each view with a clear explanation and accurate, relevant examples, then state your own judgement consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “For example” help signal the main stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from global warming to hunting and then to a confusing claim about environmental problems, without clearly connecting these points. Some linking is also mechanical or inaccurate, such as “Conclusion” and “But, the main problem.” The final paragraph repeats earlier ideas rather than bringing them together clearly. Organise each body paragraph around one view, use linking phrases to show cause and contrast, and make references such as “these problems” unambiguous.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global warming,” “air pollution,” “water pollution,” and “marine life,” so the reader can identify the environmental issues you mean. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “root cause” and “pivotal role.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “problem,” “pollution,” and “major concern,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “an alarming call,” “a huge impact of global warming,” and “noise pollution is threatened by transportation.” Spelling errors such as “speices,” “plannet,” and “destory” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a relative clause in “which plays pivotal role in pollution too” and a cause-and-effect structure in the conclusion. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships difficult to understand. Examples include “some people believe that, the main environmental problem…,” “one of the main environmental problem is,” and “which may have major impact.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable: “but apart from that animal” begins a sentence with a lower-case letter, while “trains. which plays…” leaves a fragment. Practise accurate articles, agreement, plurals and clause construction, and separate complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
