Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response identifies environmental pollution and species loss as its main concerns, and it attempts to give examples, including noise pollution and the film Robot 2.O. However, the task asks you to discuss both views and give your own opinion; the second view—that other environmental problems may be more important—is not clearly explained or compared with species loss. Your position is also difficult to follow, and the conclusion is cut off after “loss of peticular spec…”. The examples are not sufficiently explained to support the claims. The response is 169 words, so it is 81 words below the required minimum; eight words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop both sides, state your view clearly, and complete the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph is followed by points introduced with “Firstly” and “Secondly”, then a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of sequence. However, the progression between ideas is unclear. For example, the first paragraph links pollution, species loss, and which problem is more important without explaining their relationship, while “Furthermore, people can not undrestand to enviormental problems” does not clearly connect to the preceding example. The second body paragraph introduces mobile phones and birds but does not establish how this supports the discussion of both views. Use each paragraph to develop one clear point, connect examples explicitly to that point, and ensure the conclusion is complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “pollution”, “survival”, “species”, and “environmental problems”, so the topic is generally recognisable. There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “noise pollution” and “UV rays”. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices repeatedly reduce clarity: “enviromental”, “speices”, “distured”, and “dengeous” make key ideas harder to understand. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “pollution rate becomes high” and “birds spices are lost”. Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and choose precise terms rather than repeating “problem” and “loss”. A wider, more controlled vocabulary would help you explain environmental issues and examples more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes mostly simple statements and attempts some longer structures, such as “due to polluted atsmosphere distured the life cycle and survival of the species”. However, sentence construction is often incomplete or inaccurate, which makes relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Day by day, pollution rate becomes high and due to the this problem we loss…” has problems with articles, verb form, and sentence structure; “noice pollution is increase” also uses an incorrect verb pattern. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including the lowercase start after “Firstly” and the run-on opening paragraph. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense, agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
