Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response recognises that environmental problems affect people, plants and animals, and it gives some relevant examples, such as animals struggling with changing weather. However, it only minimally addresses the actual comparison in the prompt. The discussion of species loss is brief, while the other view is not clearly identified as a distinct environmental problem: most of the opening focuses on illness, vaccines and human health rather than explaining which broader problem is more important and why. Your own opinion is also difficult to identify; “on other hand i will say” signals a contrast but does not establish a clear, sustained position. To develop the response, discuss species loss and another major problem, such as climate change or pollution, in separate, supported points, then state and justify your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to move from human impacts to plants and animals, and the response includes a concluding section. Linking phrases such as “On first hand” and “on other hand” show an effort to connect contrasting ideas. However, the essay is presented as one continuous paragraph, so its main points are difficult to distinguish. The progression is also unclear: the opening moves from disease to vaccines, then to species, without explaining how these points answer the two views in the question. Some connections are mechanical or confusing, and the conclusion repeats general claims rather than drawing the discussion together. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and make each paragraph’s central point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “environmental problems,” “species,” “sunlight,” “global warming” and “survive.” These terms help communicate the general subject, but vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, which limits clarity. For example, “environment changes” and “environment problems” recur, while “loss their instinct and life” does not clearly express the intended effect. There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including “affort,” “cahnge” and “Golbal warming.” Build a more precise set of terms for the task, such as “habitat loss,” “biodiversity,” “pollution” and “extinction,” and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both short statements and longer sentences, including a contrastive structure in “On first hand … on other hand” and a relative clause in “which not only slow their growth.” However, sentence structures are mostly simple, and errors in sentence formation and punctuation are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. Examples include “Many people loss their life,” “which not only slow their growth,” and “it affect animals,” where verb forms or agreement are inaccurate. Commas are also used where sentence boundaries are needed, as in the opening sequence of claims. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and separate complete ideas with full stops. Then add controlled complex sentences to explain causes and consequences.
