Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is a trending debate between the individuals that the some people say that the main environmental threat of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental threats.
First of all, the causes of saying the main environmental threat is the extinction of particular species of plants and animals are the unusual increased in the number of other species and the reduction of balanced in the nature. For instance, when the snakes were extinct from the specific region of the Australia then the number of rabbit wese increased which damaged the crops at a large scale.
Moreover, others say that there are more important environmental threats than the extinction of the particular species of plants and animals like the global warming and lack of water in future. Global warming increased the temperature of the earth in recent years which cause the meltation of the glaciers therefore the level of sea is increasing continuously. For instance, if the level of sea is increasing with the current rate then the major surface of earth will cover with water and the survival of human will very difficult.
I concluded that there are more important environmental threats rather than the extinction of particular species. global warming disturbed the whole lifecycle of crops which leads to the shortage of food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state your position in the conclusion: you consider species loss important, but judge global warming and water scarcity to be greater threats. The examples about rabbits damaging crops and rising seas are relevant and help explain your points. However, the discussion is brief and ideas are only partly developed; for example, you mention water scarcity but do not explain its effects or give an example. Your position is clearest at the end rather than being established throughout. The response is 198 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; 29 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each view with fuller explanation and support, and make your opinion clear in the introduction as well as the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all” and “Moreover” help signal the shift between the two arguments, and the examples generally follow the claims they support. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and the conclusion introduces the food-shortage point without developing it earlier. Some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly the long sentence beginning “For instance, if the level of sea is increasing,” where the cause-and-effect relationship is difficult to follow. Build a clearer progression by explaining each claim before giving its example, and use referencing and linking phrases more precisely rather than relying mainly on basic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant environmental vocabulary, including “extinction,” “global warming,” “glaciers,” “crops,” and “shortage of food,” so the reader can identify the main subject and arguments. There is also an attempt to use more specific language, such as “balanced in the nature.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear: “unusual increased,” “meltation,” and “the major surface of earth” are not natural expressions. The opening also repeats “environmental threat” without much variation. Aim to learn common collocations and accurate word forms, for example “increase in the population,” “melting of glaciers,” and “large areas of the Earth’s surface.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, including “Global warming increased the temperature of the earth in recent years which cause the meltation of the glaciers.” This shows an effort to connect causes and consequences, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “the some people say,” “the number of rabbit wese increased,” and “the survival of human will very difficult.” Verb tense and agreement also need attention: “which cause” should agree with the preceding idea, while “I concluded” is awkward for stating a present opinion. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly controlled subordinate clause, checking articles, plurals, verb forms, and punctuation.
