Student answer (Band 4.5)

The lines these are given here Said us to explain environmental problem of our time that goes towards in both conditions .

Some people say that environmental problems is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. And I agree with this to a great extent and litterally this is true .Our Surrounding regions whenever we have faced the floods then large number of species and fishes are destroyed and water flows to them. similarly whenever we caught a fast air then number of plantes are destroyed on a large scale. And all these destructions may caused very harmful for human health both physical and mental health .And all these environmental problems due to climate changes an atmosphere and Green house effect ..And when we loss these species of plants and animals then we faced most of the environmental problems . we should be careful about plantes and we shoiuld not cutting these plantes and trees bcz when there are no trees then Oxigion will be reduced for human and other animals then for humans and animals it becomes difficult to live in this environment. And this is the main environmental problem.

And on the other hand Some people says that there are some other environmental problems . And yes this is also true somtimes we have faced pollution , traffic, air Smoking , fog , smog and some other . these are also have more dangerous for human health and due to these problems we caught different diseases that is harmful for human health .

we should be careful from all these problems to maintain our health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views: you argue that species loss is a major problem and also acknowledge pollution, traffic and smog as other threats. Your position is present, especially in “I agree with this to a great extent,” but the discussion is only partly developed. The examples about floods and strong winds destroying species are relevant, yet the links between these events, species loss and wider environmental harm are not clearly explained. The second view is listed rather than explored, and the conclusion mainly advises people to be careful without weighing the two positions or restating a clear judgement. Develop each view with a specific reason or example, then explain why you consider one problem more important. The response meets the stated length requirement; the 10 words copied from the prompt are excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic overall structure: the first section discusses species loss, and “on the other hand” introduces other environmental problems. This helps readers recognise the two sides of the question. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined in long strings with repeated “And,” while the final sentence does not clearly conclude the comparison. Some connections are also unclear, such as the move from floods and wind to human physical and mental health. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and a brief conclusion, and organise each paragraph around one main point followed by its explanation. More precise linking and reference words would make the relationships between causes, effects and examples easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “species,” “greenhouse effect,” “pollution,” “smog” and “diseases,” so the reader can identify the environmental subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “fast air,” “air Smoking” and “water flows to them.” Repetition of “environmental problems,” “human health” and “plants and animals” also restricts precision. Spelling and word-form errors, including “plantes,” “Oxigion” and “litterally,” further affect clarity. Build a more accurate set of environmental collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, refer to “strong winds,” “air pollution” and “the loss of biodiversity.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic connectors to relate ideas, but sentence structures are limited and many attempts at complex sentences are faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “environmental problems is,” “Some people says” and “these are also have.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “when we caught a fast air,” while punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, including the repeated use of “And” to begin sentences. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “although,” checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms in each sentence.
