Student answer (Band 5.0)
Today, the whole word is facing common environmental problems. It has many but some people says that it effects are loss of plants and animals. They says that we do deforrestation and leave harmful; gases into atmosphere as a result environment become harmful for animals and plants. Whil other people says that there are many more effects including climate change, land, air and water pollution. According to them when environment becomes harmful it not only effects plants and animals but also effects human beings. When we live in cities where air quality index is very high it directly effects our lungs.Drinking affected water results in many diseases. It effects crop production and many more.In my opanion when environment is affected by human activities it afftects every thing ehich is living in environment.Like when climate start changes it affects humann beings, temprature changes rapidly and mostly affects rate of crop propduction. Which result in food shortage. All that directly or indirectly affects a country's economy. Because when environment is insuitable for living resulkt in disease and affects people living. When we see in the past we see many p[laces which are of great places to live, are distructed so that now no pone even thought of living there. As a result copiuntry spend most of iots budget in overcoming the problems of environment. If we sayn that environmental problems affects only plant and animals then we are ignoring a matter which becomes very difficult to overcome in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views: the first is linked to deforestation and harm to plants and animals, while the second includes climate change and air, land, and water pollution. Your own position is also present: environmental damage affects all living things and human society. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first view receives little explanation, and examples such as polluted water causing disease or climate change reducing crop production are mentioned but not fully explained. The response is also 11 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop the argument. To strengthen the response, explain why species loss is considered the main problem by some people, then compare its consequences with those of broader environmental threats and support your opinion with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a recognisable movement from introducing the two views to giving your opinion, and linking expressions such as “According to them,” “In my opinion,” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the discussion of each view and your conclusion are not clearly separated. Ideas also move abruptly—for example, from crop production to a country’s economy and then to damaged places—without explaining the links. Repeated use of “effects” and “when” makes the progression feel mechanical, while some references, such as “all that,” are not precise. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your position, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “deforestation,” “climate change,” “air quality index,” “crop production,” and “food shortage,” which allows you to discuss environmental impacts. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “effects” and “environment.” Some choices are inaccurate or unclear, such as “environment becomes harmful,” “affected water,” and “insuitable for living,” which make parts of the argument harder to understand. Spelling errors are also noticeable, including “opanion,” “temprature,” and “propduction.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the environment as “degraded” or “polluted,” and refer to “contaminated water” rather than “affected water.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses beginning with “when,” “because,” and “which,” and some basic sentence patterns communicate your meaning. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or incomplete. For instance, “Which result in food shortage” is a fragment, while “when climate start changes” has problems with verb agreement and sentence structure. Subject–verb agreement is also inconsistent in “some people says” and “They says,” and punctuation is often missing between sentences, as in “problems. It has.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, checking agreement, and using full stops to separate independent ideas.
