Student answer (Band 5.0)
Loss of particular species of plants and animals has become the main environmental problem of our time. But other argued that there are more important environmental problems. From my prespective, second opinion hold some merit, because it fosters many other issue, For instance, water scarcity, ozone layer depletion, global warming.
Admittedly, loss of species of valuable plants and animals pose a threat to the environment because it disturbs the food chain for the Human and animals. For instance, harsh environment can threathen carnivorious animals by reducing the avaliablity of their prey. The same is true for plant, if they are followed by bad weather, they may soon vanish from their natural environment.
Although it poses a threat by reducing particular species, gives rise to water scarcity, ozone layer depletion and global warming. For example, Due to harsh weather condition Pakistan has become the most vulnerable country and according to an estimated data will soon run out of water due to its changing weather conditions. The same is true for cities like Karachi, London. According to a data published by London Meteropolitan, by the end of 2050, a growing number of people may suffer from asthma and cancer due to increasing global warming. Ozone layer deleption is also a growing threat of this era, thereby allow harmful raditions to reach directly to the earth which is harmful for human life.
To sum up, environmental problems are not only targeting animals or plant but it also threaten the life of human beings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a preference for the view that other environmental problems are more important, naming water scarcity, ozone depletion and global warming. However, the position is not fully clear: the opening says species loss “has become the main” problem before you favour the opposing view, and the conclusion does not restate which view you support. The discussion is also under-developed. The species-loss paragraph gives a food-chain example, but the other-problems paragraph lists several threats without clearly comparing their scale or explaining why they outweigh biodiversity loss. The response is 242 words, below the 250-word minimum; this limits the space available to develop and support the ideas. Clarify your position from the introduction and extend the comparison with specific, relevant reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph on species loss, a paragraph on other environmental threats, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two sides. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. The third paragraph begins, “Although it poses a threat …, gives rise to water scarcity,” but the relationship between the clauses is incomplete, making the argument difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “For instance” and “To sum up” are useful, though the examples are not always connected explicitly to the main claim. The conclusion is very brief and does not bring the comparison together. Use clear topic sentences, make each paragraph develop one central point, and ensure that contrast and cause-and-effect links are expressed in complete, logical sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant environmental vocabulary, including “food chain,” “water scarcity,” “ozone layer depletion,” and “global warming,” which allows you to discuss the topic. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “vulnerable” and “harmful radiation.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: “prespective,” “threathen,” “avaliablity,” and “deleption” are examples. Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, including “an estimated data” and “the same is true for cities.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and avoid repeating broad labels such as “harsh environment” when a precise cause would strengthen the point. Proofreading and learning topic-specific word partnerships would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example (“if they are followed by bad weather”) and a sentence beginning with “Although.” However, complex structures are often incomplete or inaccurate, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas harder to follow. For example, “Although it poses a threat …, gives rise to water scarcity” lacks a clear subject for the second verb, while “second opinion hold some merit” has subject–verb agreement problems. There are also issues with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, as in “for plant” and the comma splice in the opening. Practise building complete clauses with clear subjects and verbs, then check agreement, articles and punctuation. Shorter, accurate sentences would help make the argument easier to understand.
