Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that only losing the plants and species are one of the sole issue of an environmental degradation. Some other people have perceptions that there are other considerable issues of environmental because when environmental degredation causes the overall eco-systems as well as the human habitats also get hampered. This essay argues the both point of view. However, from my viewpoint,I firmly stand with the latter view of this statement.
Admittedly, with the time being the damage of environment is getting worsen rather than being better.Furthermore,we are tend to lose some of the most important species and plants for this fluctuating behaviour of nature which we should be responsible about.Environmental degradation causes a huge threat towards the eco-system as well as various animal's habitats. We are being ignorant about the fact that we are living in a world full of important species and plants surrounding the world where these plants and animals are working as an aid for maintaing a balance of biodiversity.Nevertheless, there are some other considerable issues regarding the changing behaviour of our environment. For instance,deforestation,water-logging on roads, littering everywhere, pollution, and climatic fatalities.Additionally, these problems are occuring on dail basis of our lives which are quite concerning for ourselves because if we are failing to protect, conserve and preserve our environment then the nature will pay it back with a double price. As a consequence, various climatic fatalities occurs such as untimely droughts, floods, earthquakes and land slides.
From my viewpoint,I stand with the latter view of this statement because environmental issues are also hampering our day to day lives rather than just the biodiversity of this world. For instance, recently in Nepal there has been an uncertain occurrance of mountain slide took place which unfortunately took a lot of lives including tourists visiting those places. However, this scenario is not the first time happening in the world. The Turkish earthquake has shocked everyone when the aftershock demolished a lot of houses of Turkey. These unusual climatic events are taking a lot of houses and lives.
In conclusion,we should be focusing more on other issues rather than just focusing only on the loss of biodiversity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and make your position clear: you acknowledge the loss of species and plants, then argue that other environmental problems have wider effects on people’s lives. The examples of landslides in Nepal and the Turkish earthquake help illustrate your concern about environmental harm. However, the discussion is uneven: the biodiversity view is mainly described as important for maintaining balance, while the other view is supported with a list of problems and disaster examples rather than a clear explanation of how these compare in importance. Some examples, such as earthquakes, are not clearly linked to environmental degradation. Develop each side with a specific cause-and-effect explanation, and make your comparison and opinion more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a main discussion, a paragraph stating your opinion, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Nevertheless,” and “As a consequence” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the first body paragraph moves quickly from species loss to a list of other problems and then to natural disasters, so the progression is not always clear. The repeated phrase “from my viewpoint” also makes the organisation feel somewhat mechanical, and “This essay argues the both point of view” does not clearly preview the structure. Group related points into a clearer sequence and use pronouns or varied transitions to avoid repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “biodiversity,” “deforestation,” “habitats,” and “climatic fatalities,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “conserve and preserve.” These choices show awareness of the environmental topic, although some wording is inaccurate or unnatural and occasionally makes the meaning less precise. For example, “the damage of environment is getting worsen” and “water-logging on roads” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “climate-related disasters” would also be clearer than “climatic fatalities.” Spelling errors such as “degredation,” “maintaining,” and “occurrance” further reduce accuracy. Focus on common academic collocations and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because” and “if,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation remain. For example, “the main environmental problem … are” would require singular agreement, while “these unusual climatic events are taking a lot of houses and lives” has an awkward verb pattern. The opening also contains a run-on sentence, and missing spaces after full stops make sentence boundaries harder to follow. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation; this will make your ideas clearer without limiting your range.
