Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the domenstrical world, incrising the amount of poolution it create global warmming while unpredictable atmosphere causes of loss of the environment. Some people believe that the main environmental problems of reduce the particular species of plants and animals while othere belives that there mare many important problems of environment.

Firstly, there are the many reason the loss of particular species of plants and animals is the main reason is the environmental problem. One of the main problem is disaster, when the tsunami or landslide are become the main affect show on the plants, animals and human beings. Another reason, Every species plays an important role in maintaining the natural balance. For example, bees help pollinate plants, while many animals help control the population of other species.

On the other hand, there are several other environmental problems that deserve attention, such as air pollution, climate change and water pollution. These issues affect not only animals and plants but also human health. For instance, air pollution caused by vehicles and factories can lead to breathing problems, while climate change can cause floods, droughts and extreme temperatures. Moreover, water pollution can reduce the availability of clean drinking water. These problems affect millions of people around the world, so governments should take effective measures to control them.

To conclusion, although the extinction of plant and animal species is a major environmental concern, I believe that other issues, particularly climate change and pollution, are equally important because they have harm effects on both humans and the natural environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both views: the first body paragraph explains how species contribute to natural balance, and the next identifies pollution, climate change and water pollution as wider concerns. Your conclusion gives a position, favouring the importance of these broader problems. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the first view relies on a brief example about bees and other animals, while the second is more fully explained. The opening is difficult to understand, and the position is not clearly stated until the conclusion. The response also falls five words short of the required 250-word minimum. To strengthen the answer, state your view clearly in the introduction and develop each side with a specific explanation or example before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the shift to the second perspective, and examples generally follow the points they support. However, progression within the first body paragraph is unclear: “there are the many reason” and “the main reason is the environmental problem” repeat the same idea without establishing a clear sequence. The opening also combines several ideas in a confusing way, and “To conclusion” is an inaccurate concluding link. Use one clear topic sentence per paragraph, connect each explanation directly to its example, and choose linking phrases that accurately express the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant environmental vocabulary, including “species,” “natural balance,” “pollution,” “climate change,” and “clean drinking water.” These terms allow you to address the topic and give examples. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the opening difficult to interpret, such as “domenstrical,” “incrising,” “poolution,” and “maremany.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “the main affect show on” and “harm effects.” Aim to learn accurate topic-related collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions would help you explain environmental causes and consequences clearly, rather than relying on broad or awkward wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a relative clause in “air pollution caused by vehicles and factories can lead to breathing problems” and a conditional-style explanation of climate impacts. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. For example, “there are the many reason the loss … is the main reason” has faulty sentence construction and number agreement, while “when the tsunami or landslide are become” combines verb forms incorrectly. The opening also lacks clear grammatical connections between its clauses. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences, checking singular and plural agreement, and using one main clause with a clearly attached explanation. Punctuation should also separate complete ideas rather than joining them loosely.
