Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views: the first body paragraph discusses species loss, while the second introduces traffic and water pollution as other environmental concerns. Your conclusion also gives a preference for the view that other problems are more important. However, the position is not fully clear or consistently explained: the introduction promises a personal opinion, but the conclusion says species loss is not the major problem without explaining which issue is most serious or why. Several supporting points are unclear or inaccurate, such as claiming that white bears are extinct and linking this directly to rising temperatures. Develop each view with a more precise example and explain how it supports your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow at a broad level. Some connections between ideas, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “For this reason, its effect our climate change” does not clearly show how species loss affects climate, and “Which are major problems” is an incomplete follow-on sentence. The conclusion’s “although … however” also uses two contrasting signals together. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and make references such as “it” and “this” identify their subject precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “species,” “climate change,” “food web,” “traffic congestion,” and “water pollution,” so the reader can identify the main environmental themes. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand: “lossing,” “white beers,” “congetion,” and “poullted” are examples. Phrases such as “major reason to effect our environment” and “play a vital role in environmental issue” are also imprecise or unnatural. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully; choosing precise terms will help you explain causes and consequences rather than relying repeatedly on “major” and “effect.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer structures, including “although …” in the conclusion and a conditional-style explanation beginning “When water is polluted.” However, sentence patterns are mostly simple, and attempts to connect clauses are often faulty. Examples include “our environment polluted by many reasons,” which lacks a correctly formed verb phrase, and “Which are major problems,” an incomplete sentence. There are also recurring errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms, as in “water pollution also play” and “species and animals are play.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking verb forms and sentence boundaries.
