Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, reducing of species of plants and animals has become an important issue. While some individuals believe that it is the main environmental problem of our time is the reduction of particular species of plants and animals. Other believe that there are more important environmental issues.
One of the main reasons why I believe that it is the problem of environment is that mostly species do not survive in any environment. This is because both species animal as well as plants are reduced after changing the environment. They do not survive on the planet due to the cause of various weather such as Summer and winter also effect them. Consequently their lives are very reduce quickly on the earth. As a result they reduce their species whether it is plants and animals. For instance, after few years ago bacterial diseases are present on plants in which is infected the animals because plants are the food chain of an animal. animals eat green grass bacteria is present on it so they lack their species.
Another important reason is that environmental pollution is also a cause of the reduction of species of the animals and plants. In other words, plants are located in gardens but, the garden is open on the top. Consequently, dust particles are present in the air and plants is affected them. As a result, Animals eat leaves so germs are going in to stomach of animals. For instance, the animals which are living in village they drink polluted water and grass so their organs are cause by serious infection diseases.
In conclusion, I believe that changing of environment and polluted plants are loss the rate of animals and plants species. For these reasons, I consider this viewpoint to be the most reasonable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the topic and give a position in the conclusion, arguing that environmental change and pollution make species loss the most important problem. The two body paragraphs also offer relevant causes, including changing conditions and pollution. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the response does not explain what other environmental problems might be more important or why people hold that view. Your examples about contaminated plants and animals are difficult to follow and do not clearly support a comparison between the two positions. Develop both sides explicitly, then explain why your own view is more convincing, using a clear, relevant example for each.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Consequently,” “As a result” and “For instance” show an effort to connect claims and examples. However, the overall progression is limited because both body paragraphs mainly repeat the idea that environmental changes and pollution reduce species, rather than developing distinct sides of the debate. Some links are also unclear: the chain from bacterial disease in plants to animals losing species is hard to follow, and “In other words” does not introduce a clear restatement. Organise one paragraph around species loss and another around other environmental problems, with each paragraph following a clear claim–explanation–example sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “species,” “environmental pollution,” “bacterial diseases” and “polluted water,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “plants and animals” and “reduction of species.” Some word combinations or forms make meaning difficult to understand, such as “their lives are very reduce quickly” and “their organs are cause by serious infection diseases.” Aim for more precise environmental vocabulary and check collocations and word forms. For example, use “declining populations” or “habitat loss” where appropriate, and describe animals as “developing serious infections” rather than using the unclear phrase about their organs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer cause-and-effect structures, using forms such as “While…” and “This is because…”. The main ideas are often still recognisable, but errors in sentence construction and agreement occur frequently enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “some individuals believe that it is the main environmental problem … is the reduction” contains competing clause structures, while “plants is affected them” has incorrect agreement and sentence patterning. There are also problems with articles, plurals and verb forms, as in “after few years ago” and “their lives are very reduce.” Practise building one clear main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
