Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's rapid changing world, environmental problems has become a matter of considerable debate. While some people argue that the environmental problems has signifiacantly caused loss of habitat for flora and fauna, others believe that there are other areas which are being effected by global problems. This essay will discuss both the perspectives. In my opinion, we cannot prioritize any factors such as loss of habitats or other factors being effected instead, by working on the root cause can solve these problems.
On the one hand, one of the main reasons of decline in the species of animals and plants is because increase in global warming and deplition of forest land had lead to loss of their habitat. As a result, flora and fauna are closer to the extinction of their species. For example, in the United states of America had faced a massive species decline due to industrialization which has lead to cutting down forest lands for setting up industries also due to increase global warming has caused forest fires in the regions where flora and fauna are to be found. Therefore, causing extintion in flora and fauna which are some serious environmental threats towards nature.
On the other hand, others argue there are many other important problems to be solved which can be types of pollution such as air pollution caused by heavy industrialisation which effects people's health who reside in that region. This is because the harmul chemicals from the industries are realsed into the nearby water source also into the atmosphere as a gas. For example, people living close to industries or factories has came across various types of health problems such as amthama, skin irritation and other diseases and it can effect their immune system. Another reason can be climate change due to heavy release of carbon dioxide by vehicles and industry causes deplition in the ozone layer through which sun rays reach directly without being filtered causes skin irritations as well as cancers for people.
In my opinion, environmental problems are effecting every species living on the planet regards of their problem it is important to take necessary action in terms of reducing environmental damage can solve many problems.
In conclusion, every speices are important as humans we envade their habitat in terms of industries by cutting down forest land, I believe people can start taking measures to reduce global warming which are causing serious thread to both flora and fauna and other problems before its too late.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a position: the first body paragraph links species loss to habitat destruction and global warming, while the second discusses pollution and human health. Your conclusion also returns to the need for action. This meets the task, but the two sides are not developed equally clearly. The explanation of species decline includes relevant causes, yet the example about the United States is broad and does not identify a particular species or provide specific evidence. The discussion of pollution is more detailed, although the ozone-layer claim is not clearly connected to the main comparison. Your opinion—that addressing root causes is preferable to prioritising one problem—is present, but could be explained more directly. Develop each view with a precise example and make the reasoning behind your position explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a statement of your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. The progression is generally logical, but some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Therefore, causing extinction…” is a sentence fragment, and the final opinion paragraph largely repeats the introduction without developing the connection between the two views. References such as “their problem” and “which” are also not always precise. To strengthen cohesion, connect causes and consequences in complete sentences and use clearer references rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant environmental vocabulary, including “flora and fauna,” “habitat,” “industrialisation,” “carbon dioxide,” and “climate change,” which helps communicate the topic. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a matter of considerable debate.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “deplition,” “effected” where “affected” is intended, “harmul,” “realsed,” and “extintion.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “extinction of their species” and “other areas which are being effected by global problems.” Aim for accurate topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms such as “problems” with precise labels would also make the argument more fluent and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent: several sentences contain agreement, verb-form, or sentence-boundary errors. For example, “environmental problems has become” should use a plural verb, and “industries has came across” has an incorrect verb form and agreement. The opening of the first body paragraph, “one of the main reasons … is because increase,” is not grammatically complete, while “Therefore, causing…” is a fragment. Long sentences in the pollution paragraph also combine several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise building accurate complex sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and separating independent clauses with appropriate punctuation.
