Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to discuss both views: the first body paragraph focuses on species loss through urbanisation and hunting, while the next mentions wider effects such as industrial pollution, disrupted food chains and deforestation. Your view appears to favour the importance of species loss, but it is not stated clearly or consistently; the introduction’s wording is difficult to interpret, and the conclusion does not resolve the comparison. Several points are relevant but remain unclear or insufficiently explained—for example, the examples of sparrows and elephants are listed without showing their specific environmental consequences. To strengthen the response, explain each view directly, develop one or two examples, and state a clear opinion that answers which problem is more important and why.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an identifiable introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding sentence, and there is a broad movement from species loss to other environmental problems. However, the progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several ideas are compressed together. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from economic wellbeing to urbanisation, species disappearance and hunting without clearly showing how each point connects. Linking expressions such as “As a result” and “Conversely” are attempted, but some do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas. The final sentence is too brief to summarise the discussion or reinforce your position. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect cause and effect explicitly, and make the conclusion complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “ecosystem,” “food cycle,” “toxic waste,” “deforestation” and “industrial revolution,” which gives the response some relevant environmental language. However, the range is limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices that sometimes make meaning difficult to recover, such as “delicated species,” “absentisum species” and “escaptaion the livestock.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “economic satisfaction” and “fit as a professional lifestyle.” Aim to use familiar environmental terms accurately before attempting more ambitious expressions. Proofread spelling carefully and check collocations in a dictionary; for example, “loss of species,” “disrupt the food chain” and “habitat loss” would express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and cause-and-effect structures, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often faulty, which can make the argument hard to understand. For example, “During the urbanization, local people who thrive towards employement, which lead to modifie local area” lacks a complete, well-formed main clause and has problems with agreement and verb forms. The opening sentence and the final sentence are also difficult to parse. Errors with articles, plurals, subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries recur, as in “every individuals more concern” and “Food cycle is disturbe.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clear subordinate clauses. Check that each sentence has a subject and finite verb, and use punctuation to separate complete ideas.
