Student answer (Band 6.0)

This issue has spark the serious debate among the public. Some people said that the core environmental problem of the contemporary era is the loss of speices of flora and fauna while critics argued that there are other things which contributes to envirnomental problems. This essay aims to discuss both views and give my opinnion.

On the one hand, people with shear affecttion towards nature showed serious concerns that wiped out species of animals and plants are the major problem of our time.Because extinction of a specie disturbed the whole ecosystem and food chain. For instance, naturally one organism is depend on other in order to get the food and if a class of organism extinct it also disturbed the livelihood of relying organisms.

On the other hand, people argues that there are numerous other challenging environmental issues which needs to be addressed in order to protect environment. Raising global warming, deforestation and over consumption of fossil fuels are the major problems of this time and indirectly this core issues leads towards the extinction of the species.

For example. for the development of cities housing socities often cut down hundreds of thousands of trees which destroys the shelters of many animals. Moreover, increasing atmospheric temperature plays a central role to disturbed the life of human beings and flora and fauna.

In my point of view, we cannot bring extincts specis back but we can cope other environmental challeges and make our environment good place for all living organisms.

To concludes, rather than crying over spilt milk there are plethora of issues which needs to be addressed and if we cope this challenges we also preserve those endangered species which are effected by ecosystem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear personal position: you explain that species loss disrupts ecosystems, then argue that broader pressures such as global warming, deforestation and fossil-fuel use deserve attention. The examples about habitat destruction and rising temperatures are relevant and help connect these pressures to harm to wildlife and people. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the first view is supported mainly by a general food-chain explanation, while the final claim that other problems can be tackled more readily than extinction is asserted rather than explained. Clarify how you weigh the competing problems and develop one or two examples with more specific consequences to make your reasoning more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to two contrasting views and then a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow the discussion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In my point of view” make the direction of the argument apparent. This organisation is effective, though some linking feels mechanical, and a few connections between claims could be clearer. For example, the paragraph on wider environmental problems lists several issues before linking them to extinction; explain the relationship more smoothly rather than relying on a list. The conclusion repeats the contrast but does not fully synthesise the reasons behind your position. More precise referencing and varied transitions would strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “ecosystem,” “food chain,” “deforestation,” “fossil fuels,” and “atmospheric temperature.” These choices show awareness of the subject and generally allow the reader to understand your main points. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “speices,” “envirnomental,” “affecttion,” “extincts specis,” and “cope this challenges.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “raising global warming” and “make our environment good place.” Aim to learn accurate forms and natural collocations for environmental topics, and choose words that express your intended meaning directly. Proofreading for spelling and word forms would make your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect explanation with “Because extinction of a specie disturbed the whole ecosystem” and a conditional sentence beginning “if a class of organism extinct.” However, these structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “people argues” should have subject–verb agreement, while “one organism is depend” needs a correctly formed verb. The opening “This issue has spark” also uses an incorrect verb form. Practise building accurate clauses first, especially with conditionals and cause-and-effect links, and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly conjugated verb.
