Student answer (Band 4.5)
A group of human gives statement that main enviromental issues of our time is the waste on specific species of plant and animals . while other side said that it is most important of enviromental issues.
In my opnion there is no time is waste on particular species of plant and animals. This is the one of biggest problem in enviromental issues. The plants that they give us oxygen and medicene . And the animals that are also use for medicence and meat .
The care of plant is most improtant part of life , they are indicpensible part of our lives becase without oxygen we cannot live at least 2 minutes. The plants also give us the different kind of medicences like through the drugs related plants are gives us different kind of medicens .
On the other hand the animal which are essantial part of our lives which we use for riding , for helps in our work and serverl knd o pets . With the form of pets they became the part of our lives and live with dicpline. The care of animals is also most important because they give us meat , milk , there serrage used in serverl medicence , use for riding and use to protect from another animal . The animals take a lot of aprt of our work on there own .
To conclude that the plant give us oxygen, fruits and wood. On the other hand the animals used for human protection , in human works and for different things . So the care of both is not a wasting part it also important part of envirmental issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear view that protecting plants and animals is important, and you offer relevant reasons, including oxygen, medicines, food, and animals’ roles in work and protection. However, the task asks you to discuss both views: the view that species loss is the main environmental problem and the opposing view that other problems are more important. The second view is not explained; the opening only mentions it, and the essay then argues for protecting species. As a result, the response addresses the task only partially, and the supporting points are mostly listed rather than developed with examples or explanation. To improve, explain what other environmental problems might be more serious, such as climate change or pollution, and compare their effects with species loss before stating your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs about plants and animals, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main topic of each section. However, the overall progression is limited: the body paragraphs develop reasons for protecting species, but do not organise or explain the opposing view. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “To conclude” are present, yet the former introduces another point supporting the same general position rather than a contrasting argument. Some ideas are also joined in long lists, making relationships between them unclear. Build a clearer sequence by giving each view its own paragraph, using linking expressions to show contrast and cause, and ensuring each paragraph develops one central point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “species,” “oxygen,” “medicines,” “meat,” and “environmental issues,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices that sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “enviromental,” “medicene,” “indicpensible,” and “serrage”; phrases such as “wasting part” and “take a lot of aprt of our work” are also unclear or unnatural. Aim to learn accurate spelling and collocations for environmental topics, and choose more precise terms rather than repeating “important” and “different kind.” For instance, you could refer to “biodiversity loss,” “ecosystem services,” or “the extinction of species.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic structures to express reasons, but grammatical control is weak and errors occur throughout. Subject–verb agreement is often incorrect, as in “A group of human gives statement” and “The plants … gives us”; articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “This is the one of biggest problem.” Several sentence fragments appear, including “The plants that they give us oxygen and medicene,” while punctuation and spacing around full stops and commas are inconsistent. These errors can make the intended relationships difficult to understand. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, checking singular and plural agreement, and using articles accurately. Then combine ideas with controlled clauses, rather than joining many points in one sentence.
