Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people Argue that extiction of species of plant and animal is the prominent cause of environmental problem, while other believe that there is more important environmental problem apart from them. I believe that bio diversity can cause the environmental problems, but there is more prominent causes like pollution which cause harm to the enviroment.

On the one hand, in contemprory wold pollution is a prominent cause in harming the enviroment. It is causing plethora of problems like air pollution, water pollution, global warming. It is essential to save the environment from this which causes eradication of it as well as living beings. For instance, In current era, there is significant increase in pollution and which causing health degradation as well as extiction also cause by this. followed by water pollution and global waming which is also causing devastation.

On the other hand, bio-diversity plays slight role in the environment. it can cause food chain destruption. As a result, there is domino effect can be started and further extinction can be happened. For instance, one spices is extict from the environment, while other species depend on that species. It further creates a loop or a chain reaction of extiction. ultimetly, it can result a destruction of the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a position: pollution is presented as more prominent, while biodiversity loss is linked to disruption of food chains. The example of one species disappearing and affecting dependent species is relevant. However, the discussion is only partial: the pollution paragraph lists air and water pollution and global warming but does not explain clearly how these compare with species loss, and the biodiversity argument is brief. Your conclusion is cut off after “plant and envi,” so your final opinion is not fully restated. The response also falls 21 words short of the required minimum. Develop each view with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a complete conclusion to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding section. These markers help readers identify the two views. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the pollution paragraph moves from a list of problems to “eradication” and then to health effects without clearly connecting the points. The phrase “followed by” introduces a fragment rather than a complete continuation, and the final paragraph ends abruptly. Some linking is also repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “causing” and “as a result.” Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, explain it step by step, and use referencing and transitions that make the relationships between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt topic-specific vocabulary, including “biodiversity,” “food chain,” “global warming,” “devastation,” and “domino effect,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some effort to vary expression, such as “prominent cause” and “health degradation.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to read, including “extiction,” “contemprory,” “spices” for species, and “wold.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “slight role in the environment” and “prominent cause in harming the environment.” Check spelling carefully and choose precise collocations; for example, describe biodiversity loss as disrupting ecosystems rather than saying biodiversity itself plays a slight role.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some simple and complex sentence attempts, including a conditional-style example about one species disappearing and another depending on it. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure and agreement sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “other believe” lacks subject–verb agreement, while “there is domino effect can be started” combines structures incorrectly. “It is causing plethora of problems” is missing an article, and “which causing health degradation” lacks a finite verb. The conclusion also contains “i believes,” showing agreement errors. Practise building complete clauses with accurate subjects and verbs, and check articles, agreement, and punctuation before submitting.
