Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views by discussing species loss and broader environmental pressures such as climate change and pollution, and you include examples involving deforestation, tigers and birds. However, the discussion is only partial: the first view is more developed, while the explanation of why other environmental problems are more important remains unclear. Your own position is difficult to identify consistently. The introduction mentions human activities, but “In my opinion” is followed by an incomplete thought, and the conclusion mainly repeats that pollution harms plants and animals rather than clearly comparing the two views. Develop a direct opinion and explain why one problem is more significant, using a clear cause-and-effect example. The response meets the required length; 15 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On one hand” and “On the another hand,” and a conclusion, so there is some recognisable organisation. The paragraphs also attempt to group related points, such as deforestation and species loss in the first body paragraph. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the link between climate change, birds travelling between countries and crop damage is not made clear. Connectors such as “However,” “consequently” and “To instance” are sometimes inaccurate or do not show the intended relationship, and the final opinion paragraph is too brief to guide the reader. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then order supporting explanations and examples logically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “deforestation,” “air pollution,” “global warming” and “species,” which helps establish the environmental subject. There are also attempts to use more specific examples, such as “tiger” and “cheetah.” However, the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form and collocation are frequent enough to make some ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “cruical nature based issuces,” “the reduces birds,” “species were exited” and “rise in wasteage.” Some phrases, such as “major life style for animals and plants,” do not express the intended meaning clearly. Build accuracy by learning environmental collocations and checking spelling and word forms; for example, use “habitat” or “ecosystem” where appropriate rather than relying on vague phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “it leads to damage the cycle of travel,” and you use some subordination with “due to.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer sentences often contain errors that obscure meaning. For example, “This warming are occurs” has problems with verb form and agreement, while “human are largly cutting down tree” has errors in agreement and number. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “animals.Other argue” and the run-on sequence beginning “To illustrate the forest.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check verb agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries during revision.
