Student answer (Band 5.5)
Violence presented in TV for fun and showing heroic entertainment is not problematic to some person. For some people it is considered as a encouragement for being violent. Both of these possibilities are reasonable in my opinion.
People who take media and television as entertaining objects, they usually don't take fictional stories and violence as a big issue. They clearly knows these are fake and organised way of portraying a scene. They knows these are for entertainment purposes. For instance, kids watch cartoon network a lot. A TV show called TOM and JERRY is really famous among kids and elders. They find is very entertaing as there is fun and sort of compitition among the cat and the rat.
Fictonal violence can be harmful for some people as it is presented with emotion into this. People tensed to connect with fictional characters while watching them. They feel every other things happen with the character they follow. For example if we talk about kids, they actually learn through television watching cartoons or programs made for kids. They even can learn language from foreign cartoons who uses different languages. They easily can adapt the violent behaviour if they see something like that on that same TV show.
In my opinion, both of these facts, entertainment and encouraging violence are true. But the cases are morelikely different for different age groups. Fictonal characters can touch anyones heart without effecting their prior knowledge, as well as can effect some kids mental health. For some extend, it can make a person bully without even realising it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a position: you recognise that viewers may see fictional violence as entertainment, while also arguing that it can influence behaviour, particularly among children. The Tom and Jerry example supports the entertainment view, and your discussion of children learning from television is relevant to the opposing view. However, the ideas are only partly developed. The first example explains why the cartoon is enjoyable but does not clearly show why viewers regard its violence as harmless. The claim that children may adopt violent behaviour also needs a clearer explanation or a specific illustration. Your opinion that both effects are possible is present, but the final paragraph repeats this position more than it develops it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the main discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and connections between ideas can feel abrupt. For example, the paragraph about children moves from learning language from foreign cartoons to adopting violent behaviour without explaining the link between these points. Phrases such as “For instance” and “For example” provide basic signposting, but the repeated pattern makes cohesion somewhat mechanical. Some references are also unclear, as in “something like that on that same TV show.” To improve, organise each paragraph around one main claim and use clearer links to show how each example supports it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fictional stories,” “violent behaviour,” “entertainment purposes,” and “mental health.” However, the range is limited, and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response less natural or occasionally difficult to understand. Examples include “a encouragement,” “entertaing,” “compitition,” and “Fictonal.” Phrases such as “take media and television as entertaining objects” and “connect with fictional characters” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Aim to learn common topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise language for describing influence, such as “imitate aggressive actions” or “become desensitised to violence,” would help you explain your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “if they see something like that,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and sentence construction occur frequently: “They clearly knows” and “They knows” should use a plural verb, while “People who take media and television as entertaining objects, they…” has an unnecessary repeated subject and an incomplete structure. There are also problems with articles and forms, as in “a encouragement,” and with sentence patterns such as “They easily can adapt the violent behaviour.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement and articles.
