Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days there is a problem between people about fictional violence. This is written that it has some parts that you may not watch .Some people agree with this point and some does not agree. Every one believes on their own opinion. But the creator of the movie had to show what he had made. Because people of every age watches movies. So the creator will be fined or may his movie should be removed from the internet for not giving the fictional violence. Some people have many issues like emotional issues, some are scared of watching some thing. I also see many channels that give fictional violence at first. According to my opinion the channels that have some critical seen should always give the fictional violence. Because the people that have any issue should read the fictional violence before they can watch the movie. It must be very important for the viewer and the creator. If i am a creator i must add fictional violence at the starting of the drama and movie. This helps both viewer and the creator to watch. The people who thinks that its not be given is their point of view. I like those things that have given fictional violence.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to address the prompt effectively. The core task is to discuss whether fictional violence is harmless or encourages real-world aggression. Instead, the student interprets 'fictional violence' as 'content warnings' or 'age ratings', leading to a misunderstanding of the topic. The position is unclear, and the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. Furthermore, the response is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which severely limits the ability to develop ideas. To improve, ensure you fully understand the prompt's focus on the societal impact of media violence rather than the technical aspect of content warnings.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction, body paragraphs, or conclusion. The ideas are presented in a single, disjointed block, making it difficult to follow the progression of thought. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'some people' and 'the creator'. The lack of paragraphing makes the text appear as a stream of consciousness rather than a structured argument. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks for the introduction, the two opposing viewpoints, and your own opinion, and use linking words like 'however', 'furthermore', and 'consequently' to connect ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student uses the phrase 'fictional violence' repeatedly, which is not used in the correct context, as the student seems to be referring to 'content warnings' or 'age ratings'. Basic errors in word choice, such as 'critical seen' (likely meaning 'critical scenes'), impede clarity. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas about media influence. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to media, psychology, and social issues, and try to use synonyms to avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often hinder communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people... watches'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'Now a days there is a problem between people about fictional violence'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. The range of sentence structures is very basic, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading for basic errors is essential.
