Student answer (Band 6.0)
I strongly disagree by the statement "fictional violence portrayed on television is harmless entertainment."
As we know that television plays a crucial role in society these days. Moreover many people uses television and television plays a big role in influencing others it can be their views, their perspective or anything. So if you're promoting fictional violence you should keep one thing in mind that some people may get influenced by it which will result in more violence in the society. Infact we've had many cases especially of children. They're young they don't know what's wrong or right. If they see something on Television they will definitely get curious about it and result in doing the same thing too. Television plays a big role in shaping our youth. We should maximise this opportunity by teaching them the right things. We should tell them about our history, their culture and heritage instead of violence. We should promote them to see educational challenges on Television as education is never a waste. The more educated you are the better future you will secure. Yes, I do agree that we need entertainment too and we can't ban such programs but we can make efforts to make sure it's reaching the right audience. There should be an age limit for such shows. There should also be subtitles about how the violence shown is harmless and you shouldn't do in real life.
I think the best way to spread a message these days is by television we should utilise this opportunity for better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to discuss both views in a balanced manner. You focus almost exclusively on the argument that television violence is harmful, while the opposing view—that it is harmless entertainment—is only mentioned in the opening sentence and briefly acknowledged at the end. To achieve a higher band, you must provide a balanced discussion by exploring the reasons why some people consider it harmless (e.g., as a form of escapism or artistic expression) before presenting your own opinion. The ideas provided are relevant but remain somewhat superficial and lack specific examples or deeper development to fully support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. It is presented as a single block of text, whereas a standard IELTS response should be divided into an introduction, body paragraphs for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In fact', the overall flow is somewhat mechanical. The transition between your argument and the counter-argument is abrupt. To improve, focus on using clear paragraph breaks and a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences and ideas more logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive. For instance, you use the phrase 'plays a big role' twice in close proximity. There is a limited range of vocabulary, and some word choices are slightly informal or imprecise, such as 'result in doing the same thing too'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to media, psychology, and societal impact, and try to use synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'I strongly disagree by the statement' should be 'I strongly disagree with the statement'. You also have issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'many people uses television' instead of 'use'. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited use of complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and expanding your range of sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences.
