Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 123 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While the essay attempts to address both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, the discussion is superficial and lacks the necessary depth, examples, or logical extension required for a higher band. The conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure you reach the word count to allow for a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are not well-linked, and the progression is disjointed. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'and' and the awkward transition 'on the there side'. The lack of a completed conclusion further hinders the overall flow and logical development of the argument. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and often inaccurate, which limits the clarity of your message. Phrases like 'imaginary breach' (likely meaning 'fictional violence') and 'Tally drama' (likely meaning 'television drama') demonstrate a lack of precision. There is also significant repetition of simple words like 'society', 'population', and 'negative'. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more academic and topic-specific terms, and focus on using words in their correct context to avoid confusion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('illustrate' instead of 'illustrated'), missing articles ('in young generation mind'), and poor sentence construction. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. The unfinished nature of the final sentence also contributes to the lack of grammatical control. Focusing on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles will help you build a stronger foundation for more complex writing.
