Student answer (Band 5.5)

MANY INDIVIDUALS CLAIM THAT BROADCASTING ACTION MOVIES ON TV IS HARMFULL OF CHILDREN BECAUSE IN THIS MOVIES HAS ACTION OR DANGEROUS SCENES WHICH CAN HARM FOR CHILDRENS MIND BECAUSE CHILDREN DO THING HICH THEY HAVE SEEN IN MOVIES. ON THE OTEHR SIDE SOME POPLE BELIEVE THAT IT IS BENEFICIAL FOR CHILDRENS. HOWEVER,I THINK THAT BOTH OPINIONS ARE RIGHT I DICUSS BOTH VIEWS IN UPCOMING PARAGRAPHS AND WRITE MY POINT OF VIEW.

TO BEGIN WITH , A LARGE PROPORTION OF SOCIETY THINK ACTION FILMS ARE A SAFE ENTERTAINMENT BECAUSE IT CAN GAVE KNOWLEDGE TO CHILDREN TO DO THIER DUTIES IN A MANNER WAY, MOREOVER CHILDRENS MIND IS VERY POWERFULL THAT IT CAN CATCH EASILY ALL OF NEGATIVE THINGS OR POSITIVE THINGS. ACTION MOVIES CAN TEACH STUDENT TO POLICE DUTIES AND HOW TO WIN AGINST LIE. FOR EXAMPLE, AVENGERS A POPULAR MOVIE SERIES HAS VIOLENCE WHICHG CANNOT BE REPLICATED IN REAL WORLD. MOREOVER, THESE KIND OF TELEVISION SHOWS ALSO TEND TO ATTRACT HUGE NUMBER OF AUDIENCE AND GENERATE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF REVENUE.

ACTION MOVIES ARE HARMFUKLL FOR CHILDRENS AS AT A YOUNG AGE CHILDREN TEND TO COPY WHATEVER THEY HAVE SEEN IN TELEVISION. THIS TYPE OF MOVIES CAN ATTRACT CHILDRENS MIND AND THEY DO UNUSUAL ACTIVITIES. FOR INSTACNCE RECENTLY A CHILDREN JUMPED OFF FROM TERRACE HE THINKS THAT HE COULD FLY AND HE HAD SEVERE INJURED TO LOOK A FLY SAW ON TELEVISION. ALSO ADULT PEOPLE GETS ATTRACTED EASILY BY THIS TYPE OF MOVIES AND HARM OURSELF OR PEOPLE TO SEE ACTION MOVIES.

TO COCLUDE, I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS THE MODERN GENERATION AND IT CAN ATTRACT EASILY TO ACTION MOVIES AND ITS MORE HELPFULL TO US IN SOME WAYS BUT ON THE OTHER SIDES IT HAS MENTALLY DISTURB TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth; for instance, the claim that action movies teach 'police duties' is not clearly explained or supported with logical reasoning. The position is stated, but the explanation of why both views are 'right' remains superficial. To improve, you should focus on providing more nuanced examples and ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear point rather than listing disconnected ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To begin with' and 'To conclude' are used, but the internal flow between sentences is frequently disjointed. For example, the transition between the benefits of action movies and the mention of revenue is abrupt. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it' without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'harmfull of children' instead of 'harmful to children' and 'manner way' instead of 'proper manner'. Some words are misused, such as 'replicated' in the context of movie violence. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'hich', 'otehr', 'pople', 'harmsfull') indicate a need for a wider range of vocabulary and more attention to accurate word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('childrens mind is', 'adult people gets'), incorrect pluralization ('childrens'), and awkward sentence structures. The punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and incorrect capitalization. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are often faulty, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and consistent use of articles and prepositions.
