Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that fictional violence encourages violent behavior. While some individuals contend that fictional violence portrayed on media is harmless entertainment. I firmly believe that violence in television is harmful behavior to display in public contents due to vulnerability of viewers limitation.

On the one hand, proponents of fictional violence are harmless contents in television emphasize that violence in television represented only fantastically probability for suitable storyline. To illustrate, when actors rather be pacifist and dislike fight in action movie, it inevitably leads to failure of movie reputation and disappointment from audiences.

On the other hand, there is far more compelling arguments supporting violence in television is harmful. The main rationale is that violent behavior emphasize repeatable learning for children. This is primarily because of young children and teenagers who repeatably learning of contents, it inevitably exposes them to replicate the violent behavior. The repeatable learning may leads practicing substantial violence and reforming a violent character. For example, every movies and documentary demonstrate the age limitations or warning sign before conception of movies. Therefore, this clearly outweighs the aforementioned drawbacks.

Although, l am convinced that violence in television tend to inevitably lead children acts as more violent. Despite the apparent advantages of earning high profit and convincing plausibility of story, children continually expose to harmful media presents a far more crucial issue. It is widely acknowledged that violence is the most severe hazardous character especially crucial ages for teenagers to educate ethical behavior. Moving forward, violence in television is absolutely detrimental for individuals around the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited by linguistic constraints. The argument regarding the 'repeatable learning' of children is relevant but lacks specific, well-explained examples; the mention of 'age limitations' is a good start but is not fully connected to the core argument about behavioral change. The position is consistent throughout, but the depth of analysis is restricted, leading to a somewhat repetitive structure. To improve, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with a clear link back to the prompt's central question about the impact of fictional violence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Moving forward' at the end, which does not function well as a concluding phrase. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is sometimes interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the progression of ideas feel slightly disjointed at times. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'public contents' instead of 'public media' or 'conception of movies' instead of 'viewing of movies'. The phrase 'represented only fantastically probability' is unclear and hinders meaning. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'pacifist' and 'detrimental', the overall control is inconsistent. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'violence in television tend to'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'repeatably learning of contents'), and sentence fragments (e.g., 'While some individuals contend that...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences ending prematurely. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic and complex structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is essential.
