Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some number of population belives that the reel fighting scenes displayed on the television screen are unaffected whereas some number of population belives such display of voilence can affect or increase the activity.

In my view, fictional and dramatic portrayal of fighting scenes are added to the flims to increase its engagement time. Nowadays, action movies are also a type of genure which have a lot more voilent behaviours. This type of content is made available as some people enjoy the overdramatic experience. Many individuals watch the social media content because of such sci-fi activities and motor bike/car stunts shown. But the creators of such stunts also mention in disclaimer that such activities should not be performed in household and they are performing it under expert supervision. Since, television is a form of entertainment the violent visuals are also considered as entertainment and are for fun and enjoyment purpose only.

On the other hand, fictional violence on the screens can encourage violent activities in kids and school going childrens as they are not mature enough to understand the difference between reel and real acting. Seeing such content make them belive that the action is authentic and they might try and enact the same causing trouble. Hence, it is very important to avoid such content from growing childrens as it might create problems.

In conclusion, it is necessary to understand the content shown is just for entertainment purpose and is harmless then but when enacted the same in real life can be dangerous.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding why violence is considered 'harmless entertainment' relies heavily on the mention of disclaimers rather than exploring the psychological or sociological aspects of media consumption. Similarly, the counter-argument regarding children is brief and lacks specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should extend your arguments with more detailed explanations and concrete examples to demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the two body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Phrases like 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion' are used correctly, but there is a lack of variety in linking words within paragraphs. Additionally, some sentences feel slightly disjointed, and the flow between ideas could be improved by using more sophisticated transition markers to connect the arguments more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several spelling errors, such as 'belives' (believes), 'voilence' (violence), 'flims' (films), and 'genure' (genre). Furthermore, the word choice is often repetitive or slightly unnatural, such as 'some number of population' and 'social media content'. To improve, you should focus on expanding your range of vocabulary to include more academic collocations and ensure that you proofread carefully to eliminate basic spelling mistakes that detract from the professional tone of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'the reel fighting scenes... are unaffected' (which is unclear), 'school going childrens' (should be 'children'), and 'avoid such content from growing childrens'. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy significantly.
