Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 207 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and repetitive. While you address both views and provide an opinion, the arguments are under-developed. For instance, the claim that watching violence helps people 'solve problems' is not logically supported or explained. To improve, you must expand your points with more detailed examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'For instance' and 'As a result' are used in almost every paragraph, which makes the flow feel somewhat forced. Additionally, the progression of ideas is limited by the lack of depth. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more natural flow of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently repeat the phrase 'fictional violence portrayed on television' throughout the text, which suggests a lack of lexical variety. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'youngster will be dangerous' (which is unclear) and 'more violence for our society' (which should be 'more violent'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use synonyms and more precise collocations to express your ideas, rather than relying on the same basic vocabulary throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'In modern generation' (missing article), 'avoid to see' (incorrect verb pattern), 'youngsters has seeing' (incorrect tense and subject-verb agreement), and 'they can solved' (incorrect verb form). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and the proper use of articles. Increasing your range of sentence structures will also help improve your score.
