Student answer (Band 6.0)
Telesvison and digital media have always acted as spokespersons for societal behaviours and norms. There is always been a debate that whether the violence displayed in TV dramas, movies is harmless entertainment or it actually triggers violent behviour among the spectators. This essay will discuss both the views before presensting my own opinion.
In one hand, there are many people who believes that media should only be consumed for the sake of entertainment. Indeed our televison projects like movies,TV serials and adds show aggressive male protagonist, haiving controlling and brutal mindset, which actually is a reflection of our own toxic patriarchal culture, but they also show how this fiercy ends in despair and at the end its always the kindness that wins.
On the other hand, there are opinions that since TV media is accessible to all age groups, so seeing violent crimes like mafias, thugs, and underworld dons can actually fascinate the teenagres those having intense emotions, since teenagers are in the process of finding thier identity, so phsycisal and voilence emotion can influence them and they can go astray and follow the world of crime and wrongdoings.
In my opinion, nonetheless one should consume the television media beacuse it depicts and addresses problems of our society, but parents should monitor their children, and remind them from time to time that it is only an entertainment and they should learn valuable lesson from them.
In conclusion, violent portrayed on televison can be both harmless entertainment and can encourage violent behviour, but to ensure that it has only positive impact one should be keep in check.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on fictional television violence and providing a clear personal opinion. The writer establishes a position in the introduction and maintains it through the body paragraphs and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, such as noting that media reflects patriarchal culture but also shows negative outcomes for aggressive characters, and that teenagers might be influenced by underworld depictions. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed and lack extended specific examples. For instance, the discussion on teenagers and crime lacks concrete elaboration. Despite these minor limitations, the task is successfully fulfilled, aligning well with the Band 6.5 to 7.0 descriptors. A band score of 6.0 is appropriate as all parts are addressed and a clear position is presented, though development could be extended further.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to two body paragraphs discussing opposing views, a personal opinion, and a conclusion. Transitional markers are used, such as 'In one hand' (though grammatically flawed as 'On the one hand'), 'On the other hand', 'In my opinion, nonetheless', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the phrase 'In one hand' is incorrect collocation, and some sentences run on with heavy comma splices or awkward phrasing like 'since teenagers are in the process of finding thier identity, so phsycisal and voilence emotion can influence them'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas, but logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally strained by grammatical interruptions. This performance fits Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'patriarchal culture', 'underworld dons', and 'spectators'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'Telesvison', 'behaviour', 'presensting', 'haiving', 'fiercy', 'teenagres', 'thier', 'phsycisal', and 'voilence'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the essay from achieving a higher band score. The writer shows some awareness of style, but inaccuracies in collocation and spelling place this firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range. A score of 5.5 reflects the adequate range combined with noticeable spelling and lexical errors that cause some distraction for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some ambitious structures such as noun clauses and participial phrases (e.g., 'those having intense emotions'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, including subject-verb agreement errors ('there are many people who believes'), prepositional collocation errors ('In one hand'), and run-on sentences with comma splices ('Indeed our televison projects like movies,TV serials and adds show aggressive male protagonist...'). Additionally, spelling mistakes are pervasive ('televison', 'adds', 'behaviour', 'thier'). Although communication is generally maintained and the meaning can be understood, the density of grammatical and mechanical errors prevents the score from reaching Band 6.0. Therefore, a band score of 5.5 is awarded.
