Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often agrued that several individuals beleive that the imaginary depictions of violence on screen is safe entertainment while others beleive that it promote manner. Although both perspective have some merits,I am more convienced by the view that it violent behaviour.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why some people support the idea that fictional violence is harmless entertainment. The primary reason is that many people see this channels only for their entertainment. This is largely because after taking short breaks from their studies and works which can result in relaxing their mind. For instance, some movies or episodes are very interesting so they watch it in breaks.

On the other hand, others argued that it encourages violent behaviour and i find this perspective more convincing. One major reason is that many youth watch fictional movies and try to copy it as same. In others words, learners show the episode and behave as a actor.A particularly relevant example of this can be seen in, in recenyt years my friend watched a movie which name is shooter and my friend want to become a shooter. Moreover, he do fights and arguments with other citizens without any reasons. Therefore, these violence shows or movies create so much impact on mentallity of residents.

In conclusion, while there are some valid arguments in favour of violence portrayed is harmless entertainment. The advantages of encourage violent behaviour are more compelling. In my view it inspire violent behaviour because individuals learn most of the things which actor can do in the films.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on fictional television violence and providing a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the first body paragraph argues that people watch for entertainment after work, but the explanation remains general. The second body paragraph attempts to provide an example regarding a friend watching a movie called 'shooter', but the expression is clumsy and the support lacks academic depth. The position is clear throughout, but the reasoning and examples require better extension to reach higher bands. Therefore, this performance aligns closely with Band 5.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, showing some basic organisation with standard transitional markers such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and poor referencing. For example, sentences like 'In others words, learners show the episode and behave as a actor' demonstrate faulty cohesion and unclear pronoun referencing. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, leading to a choppy reading experience. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is weak, supporting a Band 5.0 score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that frequently cause difficulty for the reader. There are numerous spelling and word-choice mistakes throughout the text, such as 'agrued' instead of argued, 'beleive' instead of believe, 'convienced' instead of convinced, and 'mentallity' instead of mentality. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'depictions' and 'compelling', but these are overshadowed by severe inaccuracies like 'encourages violent behaviour... it violent behaviour' and 'do fights and arguments'. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying basic meaning, fitting the Band 4.0 or 5.0 profile well, leaning towards a 4.5 or rounded to 5.0 due to attempts at topic-related vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but these are frequently faulty and contain pervasive grammatical errors. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement ('depictions... is safe entertainment', 'these violence shows... create'), missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and severe punctuation errors. For instance, the sentence 'Although both perspective have some merits,I am more convienced by the view that it violent behaviour' contains missing words, a spelling error, and poor comma spacing. The density of errors strains the reader and impedes communication in several places, placing the grammar squarely at a Band 4.5, which rounds to a Band 5.0.
