Student answer (Band 6.0)
Television has become a major source of entertainment in the contemporary societies. Television broadcasters are now largely focusing on producing fictional stories, presenting violent behavior to entertain an excessive number of audience. Some people belive that the fictional content which presents violent behavior is harmless, while some opponents assert that it is dangerous for the young people. I personally believe that these videos can be watched with parents in an environment where they get guidance about good and bad.
On the one hand, some people support this notion that fictional violent content is not dangerous, due to reasons. One primary reason may be that it strengthens the ability of people, particularly children to understand and get awareness about what actually happens in the society. It is evident that producers produce and portray genuine social situation through fictional stories. Therefore, it makes them mentally strong instead of becoming scared and allows them to develop techniques how to deal with society. As a result, they become brave and corageous and are more likely to progress in the society by maintaing with others behavior.
On the other hand, those who oppose this notion and think that it is harmful for audience, it also has certain reasons. One main reason is that continuous exposure to violent content may normalise agressive behavior among viewers. As a result, they may start to consider the fictional characters, in these series, who expose agressive behavior as their ideal. They would lead them to act like their ideal characters and become a violent person in the society. For instance, superheroes in recent web-series are portrayed with agressive qualities and brutal behavior, which encourage the young people to adopt same charateristics.
In my opinion, I think that a more balanced approach is that children can watch these fictional stories with their parents. This would allow parents to educate their children about the reality of these series and in what way they can manage their behavior.
To conclude, although differeing viewpoints persist, an abudance of evidence supports the notion that children should be given education about the reality of violent fictional characters. This would guide their behavior and enable them to avoid agressive behavior.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both views on fictional television violence and presenting a clear personal opinion. The introduction outlines the two perspectives and your stance, though the solution involving parents appears slightly sooner than the conclusion. Body paragraph one discusses the argument that fictional violence builds resilience, while body paragraph two covers the opposing view that it normalises aggressive behaviour. Ideas are extended and supported, such as the example of superheroes in recent web-series. However, some arguments lack deep elaboration, landing the response solidly in Band 6.0 or 7.0 for Task Achievement. Because all requirements of the prompt are addressed with a clear position and supported ideas, a Band 7.0 is well deserved.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear overall progression with a recognizable introduction, two body paragraphs exploring opposing views, a personal opinion paragraph, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. You make good use of standard cohesive devices and transition markers, such as "On the one hand," "On the other hand," "For instance," and "To conclude." However, referencing and cohesion occasionally feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, and some sentences at the end of paragraphs lack seamless integration. Overall organisation is logical and the reader is guided effectively through the arguments, satisfying the criteria for a Band 6.5 or 7.0. Given the consistent logical flow and clear paragraph structure, a band score of 6.5 is appropriate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for an academic essay, incorporating terms like "contemporary societies," "continuous exposure," "normalise aggressive behaviour," and "differing viewpoints." There are, however, a few spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as "belive" instead of believe, "excessive number of audience" instead of audience size, "corageous" instead of courageous, "maintaing with others behavior" which is an awkward collocation, "agressive" instead of aggressive, and "abudance" instead of abundance. These vocabulary errors and minor spelling slips prevent the text from reaching a Band 7, but because communication is never impeded and the range of vocabulary remains sufficient for the task, a Band 6.0 is justified.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting various subordinate clauses and relative structures like "the fictional content which presents violent behavior is harmless" and "characters... who expose agressive behavior." There are, nonetheless, persistent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the essay. Examples include subject-verb or article issues ("an excessive number of audience," "young people" without articles), spelling mistakes affecting word forms, and slightly awkward syntactic phrasing such as "This would lead them to act like their ideal characters and become a violent person in the society." While these errors do not impede communication, they occur with enough frequency to prevent the essay from achieving a Band 7.0. A Band 6.0 accurately reflects a mix of complex structures alongside frequent minor errors.
