Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's fast-paced world, cinema has become a medium of entertainment for the world wide audience. However, there is an ongoing debate about the fictional violence portrayed on television, some think it is harmless and has no impacts on people's lives, while other contend that individuals can be influenced by their idol's character and more likely to follow the path. I will share both views before preseting my opinion.

On the one hand, films and shows mostly have fictional characters, purely for fun and for the spice in the story. Furthermore, some movies got huge recognition for the dialouge deliveries and for the action, story line, colors contrast, clothes, makeup and locations are also play major role in film making. Furthermore, that is true that some crime thriller movies often contain sensitive content, inappropirate scenes and discomforting language. This can surely disturb a mentally challanged person and even give a wrong message to children.

On the other hand, even though mostly people know the crystal clear different between real and fictional world, they treat shows only as a time-passing element or just for relaxing. Moreover, frequent violence in movies and dramas can harm people personal lives and set unrealastic standards. Therefore, stoping it completely would not guranette holistic outcomes, but setting some boundaries would help the society.

In conclusion, I firmly believe violence characters in movies impacts negatively in teenagers, but instead if stoping it completely government should strict laws enforement and sensor sentive content.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to discuss both views regarding fictional violence and provides a personal opinion, thus addressing all parts of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly in the body paragraphs. Additionally, as noted in the length check, the essay contains 245 words, which falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length directly impacts the full development of ideas, restricting the score to Band 5.0. To improve, you need to ensure you write at least 250 words and expand your arguments with clearer examples and deeper analysis rather than listing surface-level points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic paragraphing and attempts to structure the response with standard signposts like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by mechanical transitions and contradictory statements between paragraphs. For example, the second paragraph mentions that crime thrillers can disturb children, but the third paragraph awkwardly shifts back to how people know the difference between real and fictional worlds. Cohesive devices are sometimes used inaccurately or repetitively, such as the multiple uses of 'Furthermore'. Overall arrangement is somewhat coherent, but referencing is occasionally unclear, aligning the text with Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'fast-paced world', 'holistic outcomes', and 'crystal clear difference'. However, there are numerous noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'preseting' instead of presenting, 'dialouge' instead of dialogue, 'colors contrast' instead of color contrast, 'inappropirate' instead of inappropriate, 'challanged' instead of challenged, 'stoping' instead of stopping, 'guranette' instead of guarantee, 'enforement' instead of enforcement, and 'sensor' instead of censor. These lexical errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. For instance, the opening sentence contains a run-on structure: '...violence portrayed on television, some think it is harmless and has no impacts on people's lives, while other contend...' Furthermore, there are noticeable grammatical errors such as 'mostly people know' instead of most people, 'violence characters... impacts negatively in teenagers' instead of violent characters... impact negatively on teenagers, and 'instead if stoping it completely government should strict laws' which features missing articles and incorrect prepositions. These errors occur frequently and occasionally impede communication, placing the writing firmly at Band 5.0.
