Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is severely under length, containing only 97 words against the minimum requirement of 250 words. Consequently, the task can only be addressed minimally. The introduction outlines the two views and the writer's intent to explore them, and the first body paragraph briefly introduces the negative perspective regarding fictional violence. However, the second view is missing, and the writer's own opinion is not provided. Because the response stops abruptly after just two short paragraphs, the ideas are extremely limited and under-developed, which significantly impacts the task response score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The text shows some initial structural organization with a standard introductory sentence ("It is often argued by people...") followed by a transition to the first body paragraph. However, because the essay is cut off after only two paragraphs, it is impossible to evaluate overall progression or the full use of cohesive devices. The referencing within the limited text is generally clear, but the lack of a proper body paragraph for the opposing view and the absence of a conclusion mean that cohesive management is incomplete and mechanical at this level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical range is basic and limited. The student attempts some topic-related vocabulary such as "fictional violence," "entertainment," and "societies," but there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, notably "voilence" (used twice), "arguement," and "consiquences." Furthermore, phrases like "bad effect" and "fictional story" are repetitive. The vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic meaning, but spelling errors and lack of lexical variety prevent the response from achieving a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as "It is often argued by people that..." and "After watching these stories they will start believing that...". However, control over grammar and punctuation is weak, and the sentences contain structural issues and run-on tendencies. There is a lack of commas in complex structures, and tense consistency falters slightly. Because of the frequent errors and limited output, the grammatical range and accuracy are restricted.
