Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to address both views regarding television violence and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the basic prompt requirements. However, the ideas are severely under-developed, vague, and often tangential. Phrases like 'Illustrated my honest ans are there' and 'television are more important in human life' demonstrate that the arguments are disjointed and lack clear support or logical extension. The student's position is muddled and difficult to follow throughout the text, struggling to maintain a coherent line of argument. This places the response firmly within Band 4, as the task is addressed only minimally and ideas remain very limited and unclear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The overall organisation of the essay is highly problematic. While there are paragraph breaks, the internal structure of these paragraphs lacks logical progression and clarity. Cohesive devices are either missing, repetitive, or used incorrectly, leading to jarring transitions between sentences and ideas. For instance, jumping from 'People are bored...' to 'television are more important in human life' creates severe coherence breaks. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it hard for the reader to follow the flow of information. The essay fails to arrange ideas coherently, matching the descriptors for Band 4.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used throughout the essay is basic, repetitive, and heavily restricted. The student frequently misuses words and collocations, such as 'two minded' instead of of two minds, 'harmless in entertinment', and 'mutured' instead of mature. Spelling errors are also common ('violnce', 'thik', 'studey', 'west'). These lexical limitations and frequent inaccuracies significantly strain the reader's ability to grasp the intended meaning easily. This performance aligns closely with Band 4 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying almost exclusively on simple and faulty sentence structures. There is a complete lack of control over basic syntax, evident in sentences like 'Some time we thinking television are harmfull in student because student are not go to studey'. Errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and word order are pervasive and frequent throughout the text. These persistent errors often distort meaning and cause significant difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar score at Band 4.
