Student answer (Band 5.0)

many people claim that the fictional violence displayed on televison is just for harmless entertainement . however i disagree things that encourages violent behaviour.

First of all, it is worth considering that all age category watch movies specially childs and they adapt the things whatever they watch . childrens are like a clay we can mold them when they will see this violence type of content they will adapt that . for instance if we compare the high crime rate citys on top there are haryana and punjab and this is just due to their violence song . they give the pump to the young age category and they intiate bad step such as fight moreover use abusive words because they become so common for them '' as they watch as they learn''.

However, it is undeniable that film or song industry makes such type of content for enjoyement . however, specially young age category take that fictional thing seriously and want to be same as that actor and attempt a crime . although, it is unforgetten they just do that things for TRP however because of that yuong people are influencing by that . for instance, a child who regularly watches violence characters their goals may gradually become more accepting of agresive behaviour in life.

In conclusion, i believe they should avoid this such type of content or government should take some action due to this crime rate is increasing moreover that repeated exposure to violent program may influence people behaviour

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt partially, discussing both views on fictional violence and providing a personal opinion, which satisfies the basic requirements of the task. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the mention of regional crime rates in India is presented abruptly without sufficient explanation or clear connection to the prompt. The writer's position is discernible in the conclusion, but the lack of elaboration throughout the body paragraphs prevents a fuller exploration of the topic. To move beyond this level, the writer needs to extend arguments with more detailed reasoning and fully developed examples rather than relying on brief, sweeping assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation present in the response, featuring a clear introduction and conclusion, along with distinct body paragraphs. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the flow between sentences can feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are basic, repetitive, and at times inaccurate, such as the overuse of transitional words like 'however' in close succession and the lack of appropriate conjunctions to link clauses smoothly. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen with pronouns lacking clear antecedents. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs requires significant strengthening. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure logical sequencing and use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, successfully conveying the basic message despite noticeable errors. There are frequent lexical inadequacies in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'entertainement', 'childs', 'citys', 'violence song', and 'agresive'. Furthermore, spelling errors like 'yuong' and 'intiate' occur throughout the text. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary, inaccuracies in formation and usage cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve in this area, the writer needs to expand their range of vocabulary, pay closer attention to word forms and collocations, and practice accurate spelling of common and topic-specific terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex structures that are consistently faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing capitalisation, incorrect pluralisation ('this violence type of content'), awkward preposition use, and run-on sentences or fragments. For example, sentences such as 'things that encourages violent behaviour' and 'due to this crime rate is increasing moreover that repeated exposure' lack proper grammatical control and can cause significant difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer must focus on mastering basic sentence construction, improving subject-verb agreement, and reducing the frequency of structural errors.
