Student answer (Band 5.0)

violence starts with a miscommunication between people results in bad endings of life's motive and aims. Behaviour changes with the mindset of people thinking about one another.

In my opinion, I would say that I disagree to the statement that fictional violence played on televisions are harmless entertainment. Violent behaviour always a bad start to the conversation to anyone. It shows that how to think about people. Many relationships are affected by the the way people talk to eachother. There is a saying that '' Think twice before you speak'', so it is necessary to think before we communicate with eachother. On the other hand fictional shows on violent behaviour are bad for the society we live in. Many kids are now watching the shows or documentries on social media apps as well as on Tvs. They got the bad idea of treating people which results in domestic violence.

For instance, There are some shows which are based on violence or bad relation. we see that now a days the love content is sometime based on violence or male or female character show dominancy on eachother, they get fight and spoil their relationship in the end. If a kid who is 10 year old watches it on regular basis they got the idea that this can happen is real life too. By growing up if a kid is male He will get an idea that males are dominant over females so he'll follow the leads and wants to implement it in his life which will be bad for him in the future. Same goes for female kid too she'll also get an idea of that.

By concluding the arguement I would say that fictional or non fictional violent behaviour always results in violent behaviour. My recommendation is that we should always keep an eye on our kids because they are the future of our country's growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt (the two views on fictional violence) and presents a clear personal opinion against fictional violence. However, the development of ideas lacks depth and focus. For instance, the introduction diverges into a general discussion about miscommunication and interpersonal relationships rather than focusing directly on the prompt's theme of television violence. While the body paragraphs provide examples regarding children imitating violent media, the argumentation tends to generalise and wander. The explanation of children's behaviour remains somewhat repetitive and tangential, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Overall, the task is addressed, but the extension of ideas is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at structural organisation. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic and weak logical links. For example, the transition from the opening remarks on communication directly into the writer's opinion feels disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used inaccurately, such as 'By concluding the arguement', which sounds awkward. Paragraphing is utilised, but internal cohesion within paragraphs often fails, leaving the reader to piece together the logical thread. Referencing is also unclear in places, such as 'they got the bad idea', where the antecedent is ambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with several instances of poor word choice and collocation. Examples include 'bad endings of life's motive', 'played on televisions', and 'love content'. There are noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as 'arguement' instead of argument, 'documentries', and 'dominancy' instead of dominance. While the writer attempts to discuss a complex topic, the limited lexical range and frequent inaccuracies constrain the response. Vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic points, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher band levels.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic coordination. Attempts at complex sentences frequently result in serious grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'violence starts with a miscommunication between people results in bad endings' (missing relative pronoun/verb agreement) and 'show dominancy on eachother, they get fight'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns (e.g., 'disagree to the statement', 'in real life'). These errors are frequent and occasionally impede communication, requiring the reader to re-read sentences to grasp the intended meaning.
