Student answer (Band 5.5)
In general, watching fictional films or stories is considered as a form of entertaintment by consumers. If a article is showing fictional violence as a part of story, it might be not effective to some consumers on their personal life. On the contrary, some consumers may take it as a negetive catalyst to use these actions on their daily life.
In my opinion, producers or directors who write these stories initially has a major role. Even if they are portraying fictional violence as a part of their article, I believe a "viewer's caution" should be mentioned in the beginning so that people should be wary what is "Fictional" and should not be done in real life
An example relating to this is consumption of Alcohol or smoking in these fictional articles. We can see a warning and caution text in the side of the screen such as "Smoking is injurious to health", "Consumption of Alcohol is injurious to health", "Smoking Kills" and so on while the movie or article is played on screens.
This also leads to a point where the Fictional violence scene should get a similar warning or a caution heading advising to not do this at home or anywhere around.
On the whole i also think providing 24x7 helpline numbers for violence also helps to a certain level while the fictional violence is portrayed on the television to avoid any negetive influence to consumers, whether its young teenagers, middle aged or elderly people and have a safe viewing experience.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear personal view that warnings should accompany fictional violence, and the comparison with smoking and alcohol warnings is relevant. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the response gives little explanation of why some people consider fictional violence harmless entertainment or why others believe it can encourage real behaviour. The opening mentions these positions but does not develop them with reasons or examples. Most of the response instead proposes warnings and helplines, so the central discussion is only partially addressed and the ideas remain limited. To strengthen the response, explain each side directly—for example, that viewers may distinguish fiction from reality, while repeated exposure could normalise aggression—and then connect your opinion to that discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable sequence: an introduction, your opinion, an example involving health warnings, and a concluding suggestion. Linking phrases such as “On the contrary,” “An example relating to this,” and “On the whole” help signal movement between points. However, the overall progression is not fully clear because the two views in the question are introduced but not developed in separate, balanced sections. The warning example is repeated in the following paragraph, and the final helpline idea arrives without a clear link to the earlier argument. Organise the essay around the opposing views before presenting your position, and use each paragraph to develop one distinct point. This would make the cohesion less repetitive and the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “fictional violence,” “negative influence,” “caution,” and “viewing experience,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “negative catalyst,” although this is not a natural collocation in this context. Several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “entertaintment,” “negetive,” and repeated use of “article” for a film or programme. The repeated use of “consumers” also makes the vocabulary feel limited. Choose precise terms such as “viewers,” “television programmes,” and “depiction of violence,” and check spelling and collocations. A broader, more accurate range would help you explain the two positions more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex forms, including conditional phrasing in “If an article is showing fictional violence…” and a longer sentence beginning “Even if they are portraying…”. However, control is uneven, and several sentence structures contain errors that can make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “producers or directors who write these stories initially has” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it might be not effective” uses an awkward verb pattern. In “so that people should be wary what is ‘Fictional’,” the clause is not formed accurately. Work on agreement, article use, and clause construction, and aim to make complex sentences accurate before adding further complexity. Proofreading sentence by sentence would also help.
