Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people believe it fictional violence shown on television it simply the form of entertaiment, while other argue that it can encourage people to behave violently. Although such programmes can be entertaining. I believe the wxecessive exposureto violent content can have negative impact, particularly on young viewers.

On the one hand, fictional violence is very harmless entertainment for several reasons. Firstly, films and television series are fictional violence create to entertain audience. Most viewers understand know the difference between fictional violence and they are doing anything that watched on television. Furthermore, action movies often include exciting stories and suspense and special effects that attracts people. For instance, many people watch superhero movies so they love to listen stories rather than the knowing characters. Therefore, fictional violence does not lead to aggressive behavior.

On the other hand, some people believe that watching violent content can negativily influence behavior. This is concernly for children who is watching fighting shows like Bigg boss, and learning awful moments and appyling at home members. For example, children may watch aggressive shows consider such action and acceptable way to solve disagreements. In addition, axecessive esposure to violent content may create fear and anxiety in some viewers. For these reasons, parents shouls monitor the programmes heir children watch and encourage them to choose age appropriate content.

In conclusion, although fictional violence can provide entertainment and does not effect everyone in same way. I believe it may have harmful effects, specially on children. Therfore, television producers and parents should take responsibility for ensuring that violent content is presented and watched appropriately.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear personal position: the introduction and conclusion state that violent content may be harmful, especially for children. The two body paragraphs also provide relevant reasons, including entertainment value, children imitating behaviour, and possible fear or anxiety. This covers the task well. However, some points are not fully explained or are unclear. For example, the superhero-film example does not clearly show why viewers enjoy the stories, and the claim that fictional violence “does not lead to aggressive behavior” is broader than the support provided. The example about children watching Bigg Boss would be stronger if you explained a specific behaviour they might copy. More precise development and support would make the discussion more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion, and the main position remains consistent. This gives the essay a coherent progression. Some connections between ideas are less clear, however. In the first body paragraph, the sentence about viewers understanding the difference between fiction and real life is difficult to follow, and the superhero example does not connect smoothly to the point about entertainment. The conclusion also begins with a sentence fragment-like contrast before restating your view. Use clearer links between each claim and its example, and make references such as “such action” more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fictional violence,” “suspense,” “special effects,” “aggressive behaviour,” and “fear and anxiety.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond very basic terms. However, the range and control are limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices, some of which make meaning difficult to understand: “entertaiment,” “negativily,” “concernly,” and “axecessive esposure.” Phrases such as “learning awful moments” and “listen stories” are also not natural collocations. Aim to learn vocabulary in complete phrases and check spelling carefully. More accurate expressions such as “imitate aggressive behaviour” and “watch stories” would make your ideas clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “Although such programmes can be entertaining” and a relative clause in “children who is watching.” However, the concession is left as a sentence fragment, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, and articles occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “films and television series are fictional violence create” combines incompatible structures, while “children who is watching” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The opening sentence also lacks necessary grammatical elements, and the conclusion contains an incomplete contrast. Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then add subordinate clauses; check that each sentence has a complete main clause and that subjects agree with their verbs.
